Amy Webb's Data: A Love Story tells how she found her husband on JDate. In her early twenties, she dated random guys and apparently got pumped and dumped by every fourth one. This ugly arrogant woman with frizzy hair was thirty pounds overweight (5’6” and 160 pounds), listed herself as athletic/fit, and made a list of 72 qualities she demanded! Ordinarily it is stupid to get advice from a woman. But Amy did her online homework and realistically settled for a bald beta husband at age 25.

She developed her online game by crafting ten fake profiles of her ideal men: tall, handsome Jewish doctors, lawyers, accountants, and professors. Then she searched profiles of women who responded. Apparently JDate reveals the popularity of profiles so she could reverse-engineer the competition. The most popular women were thin, short, and pretty. Their profiles were less than 100 words, mentioning “love”, “girl”, “fun”, “laid back”, “outgoing”, and “sunshine”. Half the women who wrote did not reply to further messages. Amy Webb used this feedback to craft a pithy, non-bitchy profile with better pictures.

Has anyone tried to reverse-engineer the best men's profiles? How can you even tell the popularity of a profile?

Short answer - yes, I've made a fake woman's profile. Women gets tons of short bursts of validation. The best response is to send a first message that is short, funny, cocky, negs, and hooks her into reading your profile.

If you just don't kiss her ass, you're better than 95% of the online competition. Not joking.
