Bus driver reaches the end of line and asks last remaining passenger, a 23 year old man to exit. He refuses. Bus driver repeated insists that he exist the bus. The guy refuses to move. The guy gets up and spits in the drivers face and the driver beats his ass. Driver gets fired.





Notice also the woman at the end threatening the driver. I don't think this driver should be fired. These guys have to take a tremendous amount of shit from the dregs of society. If someone spits in your face, that's justification to fuck someone up. Especially when the camera shows he tried everything he could to get him off verbally. I think the driver handled his shit like a man and he's being punished for it. The next punk that thinks about acting this way may now think twice. This driver should be given his job back, we need more guys like him.

Nah- he could have been smarter and called the cops. Now he's out of a job. He might have a family to feed.

The kid was being a shit for sure, but attacking someone after they've spit on you is not self-defense, it's just revenge.

He was stupid to let his emotions get to him and get caught on video that knows his superiors were going to see.

If you spit on a man you have to be ready to take a beating. PERIOD. Another reason why America sucks. You can't give people what they have coming.

If you spit on a cop (or even toward him) they charge you with assault. So I think an ass-beating is a reasonable response to this "assault".

Was the guy on the bus slow? It sounds like he has a strong speech impediment when saying "kill yourself". Didn't sound like any accent I've ever heard.

He definitely deserved an ass whooping for spitting in the driver's face but the driver went from 0 to 60 really quickly there. I don't really know what you expect when you wake up a stranger by yelling in their face.

Bus drivers have that job because they are lazy and have shitty attitudes. Most of them are rude as fuck even if you're polite with them and will do their job as poorly as they can get away with. I'm not sure why people seem to differentiate them from other low wage workers.

I totally disagree. I relocated to Seattle a few months ago and the bus drivers, with the exception of one, have been pleasant and helpful. When I didn't know my way around the city, I would just ask them which stop was closest to the location and they would call it out. A couple of weeks ago I even had a bus driver make an extra stop closer to my destination as she was deadheading back to the station.

Whenever I ride the bus, I often wonder what the lives of the drivers must have been like. I'd say at least half of the drivers are minorities (black, asian, african, etc...) Some of drivers, like the one in the video, may have had hard lives themselves. Maybe he straightened his ass out, got the experience and now has a decent job to feed his family. Maybe he has been a hard working individual his whole life. We won't know.

Not to race troll, but I can see the disdain on the faces of the black drivers when black passengers like this mess up their routes. They don't get a break. In fact, the drivers hate them more than any of the other deadbeats. It's not surprising though, I wouldn't cut some white trash guy any slack.

The driver definitely made the mistake of brandishing the chock while yelling at the bum. A bus driver was recently murdered over something silly like this. He should have called the cops. He also probably should have just kept his mouth shut after kicking the shit out of the guy instead of trying to kick some knowledge to the SWPL women standing outside. That did him in as well.

rant: It's un-fucking-believable how prevalent the SWPL mentality is here in the Pacific NW. We have a white woman arguing the case of a man she doesn't know — except that he spit into the face of a bus driver after refusing to get off at the end of the route. If the man had spit in her face, she would have called the cops while expecting some white knight to throw a few punches as well.

Public transportation is never self-funding. I'd guess the Seattle Metro Public Transit is funded at least 90% by tax monies. The SWPL folks who drives their POS Toyota Prius to work at Microsoft pay for the bus that runs around in circles on the southside of town.

Amazingly, those Prius drivers don't demand a level of respect from the passengers getting a free ride through public assistance. Instead, they go to bat for them...to the extend that if this lady would have been a lawyer, she probably would have prosecuted for the passenger who had his ass handed to him. The other Prius drivers ride the bus once in a while - to the farmers' market on Saturday - and are reminded why they chose to buy a Prius (with its oh so environmentally friendly battery) -- the crazy people. If someone is tripping out they smile and giggle and fidget at each other until they can get off. Then they turn around and defend a crackhead after he spits on/stabs/kills a driver.

Liberal mentality is a fucking sickness. Oh yeah, so is conservatism.

@svenki: It's Seattle, man. There are very few major cosmopolitan cities with such a low crime rate. I'm sure you and others have had good experiences but I know that I've had terrible experience after terrible experience in a city that was voted "friendliest" in the country in 2013 so I don't doubt their extreme rudeness and ineptitude is prevalent in many other cities.

Like I said, the driver was completely justified in whooping his ass after he was spit on but he's the one that escalated the situation. Have you ever fallen asleep somewhere and been jarred awake? Remember how disorienting it was? The guy on the bus is wiping drool from his mouth while the driver screams at him. That's not something most people are going to take kindly to and I again point out the noticeable speech impediment of the passenger.

They can take breaks with people on the bus. Pick up your radio, call it in, and go smoke your cigarette, use the phone, eat your bag lunch, whatever you gotta do. It's inconvenient, obviously, but sometimes people's jobs aren't easy. This dude had already decided he'd had enough of his job before he swung on that guy, as far as I'm concerned. He was looking to lash out.

I'm not saying he's an inherently bad guy, I've just noticed a confusing sentiment towards bus drivers expressed with this video and more famously with the uppercut video from earlier this year. They're portrayed as these righteous civil servants when really they're just like all the other people who deal with assholes at their low wage job everyday. The only difference between them and someone who works fast food is a class B CDL.

At first I was going to side with the bus driver, but his route isn't even that bad.
Then I read about him swinging those chocks at the guy, and well that's a bit overboard.
