P4P isn't really the issue- a guy could just as easily be lured in by an ad purporting to be from a woman offering free sex

It's not just online either , plenty of guys have been drugged and robbed or lured somewhere and jumped after they approached a woman in a bar.

With online chicks my rule is to meet them in public in a place I choose or if it's a meeting just for sex, at a hotel room I have

I broke my own rule last night- I went directly to the apartment of a POF chick who straight up invited me over for sex. I was a little nervous about it just based on the "this is too easy" feeling, and got even more nervous when I got to her apartment complex and saw it was really low end. I had my head on a swivel and was ready to bolt at the least suspicion of trouble but everything turned out fine

The best defense is to use common sense and if something feels hinky exit the situation

And be prepared to defend yourself- too bad Canada doesn't have CCW-a handgun would have given this guy an excellent chance of survival

Happened in PA not Canada. The way they describe it in the article is the victim got into the girls car, the husband was hiding underneath some blankets in the backseat. She pulled over, he started messing around with her, she stabbed him and the husband put a cord around his neck to hold him. I'm not sure how having a concealed weapon would help him there.

Of course a handgun would have helped. Just because he got stabbed doesnt mean he would have died immediately. The husband was in the back seat-he could have drawn and shot the girl as soon as she stabbed him the first time then shot through the seat and hit the guy.As soon as he started shooting they would have been more concerned about getting away than continuing their thrill kill
