We've all noted a certain anticipation about the 1st of every month and I'm sure that other, like me, have wondered about the success of each new member. It isn't uncommon to note when reviewing older threads that members who you remember have been since banned.

I was interested in seeing what the typical pattern of participation is here at RVF and as such, created the following analysis.

Active and Inactive Sign-Ups
There have been 9366 account membership sign-ups.
A total of 145 of these signed-up, but never activated their account.
An additional 4234 members have signed up and activated their accounts, but never actually posted even once.
We have a total of 4987 members who have posted at least one post during their time at RVF.

Degree of Participation
Participants who have posted once and never again total 918.
There have been 430 posters who have only contributed twice.
There are 1343 members who have posted between 3 and 10 times.
However, comparatively few posters pass 10 posts, but never pass 50.
Only 1262 members have between 11 and 50 total posts.
Members with 100 or more posts number 858.
We have 323 participants with between 100 and 199 posts.
There are 535 members with 200 or more posts,
but just 308 members with between 200 and 499 posts.
Only 227 members have 500 or more posts
and 81 members have 500 to 749 posts.
We have 146 members with 750 or more posts.
We have 37 members with 750 to 999 posts.
And, finally, there are 109 members with 1000+ posts.

Bannings
I may add an addendum later with stats for overall banning, but I don't have an efficient means of creating data for all bans, so the following information is only for banned participants with 100 posts or more.

Members list, sort by last visits, count how many members per page, then count the pages is my guess.

I used the "sort-by last visit" search condition and then manually counted them. There are 75 per page, so I only had to individually count the number of logins on the last page.

Almost a thousand users signed in today. I'd be curious to start tracking that number. Good stuff.

I've developed a new collection of statistics. These should be of significant benefit to the forum.

Members With "Alpha" In Their Username

There are 53 forum members who have "Alpha" in their username.
11 of these members are banned.
20 of these members have never posted.
22 of these members have a post count and currently have the ability to post.
12 of these members with a post count have been active on the forum in 2015.

Members With "Nomad" In Their Username

There are 29 forum members who have "Nomad" in their username.
4 of these members are banned.
10 of these members have never posted.
15 of these members have a post count and currently have the ability to post.
12 of these members with a post count have been active on the forum in 2015.

Notable "Alpha" & "Nomad" Members

AlphaZeroHunter - Joined in 2012 - 985 posts

RioNomad - Joined in 2011 - 5,252 posts

Never saw this thread until now. Great statistics. Wonder what the numbers are now compared to the original post back in late 2013.

In the last 24 hours we had 1,378 member visits. Keep in mind that this is a Thursday in November, fairly close to the Wednesday in December that the last statistics was posted (979 member visits on 12/4/2013).

It's possible there are normally more member visits later in the week, it's also possible there are more overall in December than November (more of a holiday time) but these are only guesses.

I'd love to see more stats, they are interesting.
