Hi everybody!

I want to learn one of this three languages,because I feel very attracted to scandinavian culture and way of life.

Which one would u recommend to learn?

I don't have any particular preference to any of those countries,I like all of them

Don't bother. Everyone speaks English.

Learn Russian.

^ that's what I was thinking. No reason to learn. It would be hard to practice too because people will see you're a beginner, and since they mostly all speak good English, they'll just start speaking English with you.

Definitely this. The biggest barrier to proficiency at any language is almost always the natives. All those 'immersion language' texts spoke of a world where English was not as well known.

Go to Turku/Åbo and deal with the Finlandswedes. They seem to care much more about their language and more willing to conversate in Swedish rather than English if you're a beginner. They are also much easier to understand that Swedes because they don't have the accent, they have the monotone Finnish.

As a half-dane, I agree with everyone above - unless you want to become a citizen, everyone speaks english. They speak english better than most Brits and Americans. Assuming you're a native English speaker, learning a Scandinavian language will make you appreciate why everyone complains about learning English.

Scandinavian (Norwegian and Danish especially, but to a slightly lesser extent Swedish, are the same language) is not very regular. It's also extremely idiomatic. It's not enough to have correct grammar. You must know the exact expression for every situation. Scandinavians simply are not used to outsiders speaking their language like a resident of Manhattan or Chicago is. Imagine that the only correct version of English was that spoken by a fourth generation half Irish/half Italian native of Brooklyn and if you deviate even a bit you're incomprehensible. That's what learning Scandinavian (at least Danish) is like.

Now, if you still want to do it, learn Norwegian. It's by far the easiest. I actually prefer speaking with Norwegians than Danes. Also, according to Roosh, it has the best women.

Yes, these days you can only find monolingual Swedish-speakers in Finland and pretty much everyone in Scandinavia seems to agree that the Finland-Swedish accent is particularily easy for everyone to understand.

It's not a terribly good idea to move to Finland to learn Swedish though. Cities like Turku are 90 % Finnish speaking and unless you already know Swedish you won't break into Swedish speaking social circles (well, you won't even find them). The largest unilingually Swedish town is Mariehamn with a bit over 10000 people IIRC but you can't even move there unless you pass a Swedish fluency test first and if you speak imperfect Swedish you'll be treated like a leper.

As a bonus a lot Finns will refuse to speak to you in any language if you attempt Finland-Swedish first.
