Arresting someone for a crime is preferable to arresting no one. They try to cow these guys into taking pleas for crimes they didn't commit. As if being named "Kalief" and having a hood accent isn't going to deter job prospects enough,smh.

Similar situation happened to me personally: In '03 I got got collared by some plainclothes on a busy street in broad daylight in November. Charges were different: Resisting arrest and assaulting an officer. They kept trying to make me confess to a murder that happened on Halloween night. Spent a night in Central Bookings by the old Yankee Stadium. All parties involved knew it was BS, charges were dropped weeks later.

Not gonna turn this to a race thread but the things they said as they punched me in the car while I was handcuffed were very biased.

It's the Bronx; there more than enough crime there that they don't need to arrest ppl frivolously to justify the existence of the court system.

What should happen: The Bronx DA responsible loses half his net worth to this kid, does 3 years time. Same for anyone else responsible.

What will happen: City shells out a mil in taxpayer money, Bronx DA continues on with a slap on the wrist.
