Hola amigos,

So there's this girl who was my senior in college (by 4 yrs) who I had a crush on for a while. I never told her about it and she never had a clue about it (or me). Just recently, I messaged her on Fb telling her abt it. She was caught off balance and appeared a bit lost, but was pretty formal and neutral in her response (without being rude). Her final response (of two pairs of msg exchanges) doesn't leave me with anything to latch on to. I have no idea what she thinks/feels, but I would like to test the waters further. Some ideas on how to proceed here would be appreciated..

I am fairly confident that she's single.

I believe telling her that you had a long crush for her was a big mistake to start with. Like someone already said, find another one. Still, it wont hurt trying with her I guess.

He's emotionally attached to this girl. If she rejects him, he'll end up spending long, lonely evenings in his room masturbating furiously. He's better just practicing on other chicks, learning the game, and maybe down the road, he'll have a chance.

@Bukowsky: You've got the situation all wrong. It was a passing thing - something reminded me of that, which is why I pinged her. There was no emotional attachment, just intrigue. I figured the worse that could happen was that she would cut me off coldly. But she didn't. And even if she did, I wouldn't give a shit (like I said, I didn't know her that well).
This is game mate, in a very indirect, obtuse way, if you will...just want to make that clear...to everyone.

Update: I've managed to build a comfortable rapport with her just over messages, with a chilled out/aloof air.
Now I need to escalate with just the right mix of persuasion and suaveness...
