The Simpsons are popular here in Brazil as well. I've had more than one person tell me they learned a lot about the US from watching it. There's a website that has a guide to all references that do not make sense locally so people can follow along.

For the most part here humor hasn't evolved beyond slapstick, so forget trying to be witty / sarcastic unless your Portuguese is on point and you've spent a fair amount of time here acclimating to the culture. Even after 2+ years here it's still hard for me.

To the original question here are some very general tips on gaming girls in Brazil:

- Your best friends are Portuguese proficiency, a social circle, and a long term / semi-permanent stay. Once I had these 3 in check everything else is just icing on the cake.
- Brazilian guys are aggressive, to be successful here you should be too (though I found a happy medium a few notches below the caveman game employed here).
- Be straight forward and say corny shit like "you're pretty", "you have beautiful eyes", "Can you give me your number so I can take you on a date".
- Escalate physically quickly. Depending on the venue and the flow of the conversation you should begin kissing her anywhere between 2-15 min into the conversation. I've went longer and had girls initiate the makeout, or had their friends tell me "what the fuck are you waiting for, kiss her".

I think Direct works best in Latin America. Indirect is more directed to women in the West.

Indirect isn't exactly easy either. I think most women know indirect is a roundabout to direct, unless you have a personality similar to Richard Simmons. At least most women worth it.

A lot of good advice in this thread. I think it's also important to remember that Latin America tends to be much more traditional, where the women virtually always wait for the men to approach. Often, that means that they are approached (or catcalled) by crass street guys who whistle and call them "mami" and make over-sexualized comments right away. So they are usually pretty happy to meet a guy who handles himself appropriately. My best solo results, mostly in Medellin and Barranquilla, Colombia, have been to walk directly up to them, smile, start talking, and be friendly and confident- in other words, the approach that should work everywhere but often doesn't, due to neurotic, local female culture. The quality of your style/dress really cannot be overstated. Agree that at least beginner Spanish is a must, don't initiate sarcasm or self-deprecation, don't be afraid to lay the compliments on a little thicker than you would back home. Latin girls tend to be very vain and like to hear how pretty they are. It's a more touchy-feely culture, so don't be shy about kino pretty early, but of course keep the touching light and playful at first. Watch her body language closely, it never lies. One great thing about Latinas is that even if they don't like you, you're much less likely get the eye-rolling or horrible attitude that you get from unhappy, self-entitled gringas, so there's less overall defeat and negativity in the process.

I would also suggest that, unless the girl is just banging-hot, don't waste too much time chasing girls who appear lukewarm toward you or flake on you. At least here in Colombia, there are too many girls who will be legitimately happy and excited to meet you to waste your time on the ones who aren't.

specially the escalate physically quickly. If the conversation is doing pretty well, like, in less than 10 minutes you can start picking the girl hands or just "fixing" her hair in a nice way (putting it behind her ears for example), looking in the eye, saying some things like "what a nice smile... does it have an owner?" and goofy things that will make her smile or feel a bit embarrassed

oh, and one of the best things if you come do Brazil is to learn some dancing moves

Dressing nice and speaking spanish are very important when it comes to latianas. I would also add dancing. I don't think I have ever heard a latina girl say that she doesn't like dancing. If you can dance, you are one step ahead of those guys who can't. In Colombia for example, they will almost never turn you down when yo ask the girls to dance.

Pretty much this. From my experience good style gives you a huge edge over local players, both in Chile & in Argentina, the cats I've encountered w/ game had no sense of style.

If you're by the coast here, a nice slim polo, slim chinos/shorts, & loafers are all you need to get noticed & stand out. The status quo here in Chile for most guys is a printed t shirt, puffy shorts & flip flops near the beach.

this is the best advice I can give to any man wanting to try in latin-am. whitish looking latin-am girls think they're the big deal when I can go to Europe and find a good looking white girl who's WAY more intelligent and doesn't act like she's the last girl on Earth. I'll rather deal with the mestizas and mulattas; best bet with them plus loads of them are sexy, especially the latter.

Glad to know that that is what it is like too. My hair is between light brown and blond. I always get good compliments about my eyes as I have an unusual eye color that is like light green or something, I'm 6'1, slim and white. Here, an asian woman told me that my facial features were 'exotic' So I guess I will have a very easy time with the amerindian women in Peru.

I really can't wait to try out Cuzco for the first time.

Does anyone have any suggestion on which cities in Peru would have the easiest game? While I was told in my earlier thread that I should not have too many issues with Cuzco, I know that it is gringoed out 'hasta arriba' practically because of all the tourists so there must be a city easier than it from having less gringos. I was thinking maybe even a different part of Cuzco perhaps because Plaza De Armas is 'hasta arriba' with gringos! already lol

Cuzco is good because it's a university town that also attracts the most gringo groupies, being the gringo capital of Peru. I think this is where all the false statements of Peru being a whiteman's pussy paradise come from. I've been travelling to other cities, and the women will never approach. They give IOIs, but they are actually difficult to lay because of the conservative culture, and there is actually quite a stigma attached to the gringo in Peru. Most good women will be wary of you. I think you have to break a place down by city and neighborhood. Right now I'm in Tarapoto, and I have to say the women are very shy.
