The point of the article is sound, regardless of how off-putting it may seem coming from a woman. Women that end up getting what they want, namely a ring, ceremony and marriage, try to use the fact that they didn't give it up quickly as a reason for why they have a happy marriage/relationship, when it really had nothing to do with it. It's their justification for not giving up that bargaining chip, and keeping him on the hook for a while until they got what they wanted out of him. If a chick gives up the ass immediately, and then later finds that they aren't compatible enough in other areas to continue the relationship, they walk away feeling used - that they gave up something of value and got nothing in return. Their pussy, in their minds, is more valuable than his time/effort/money.
