Here's the short version of the story. A person writes an anonymous letter to local newspaper saying that she was concerned about being in the same class with her alleged attacker from from the year prior.

The university's initial response was "if you don't feel safe, have security escort you to and from class"...I thought that was pretty sane...instead now its become inconsiderate and people are calling for the expulsion of the alleged attacker.

A task force on the issue has been created, headed up by the chair of the Women's studies department. Who has GOT to be a man with earrings named Lori (pictured below). WTF.

Edit: Here is the original letter...its long but some great points are that the 'rapist' was a fellow student, who was an older male, who 'raped' her at her at his home when she went to pick him up for a group project. She went to the hospital but not the police because "Very few rapists ever see a day in jail, and at the age of 22 I was not willing to sit in a courtroom with John as he denied what he did to me."

I hope that kid gets expelled and turns around and sues the school for failing to provide an impartial and unbiased committee to decide over the future of his education there.

The head of the Womens Department heading a panel to decide if a kid is going to get expelled for sexual assault (that occurred over a year ago)? My lawyer would make tuition rise at the school by 50%.

Did she report the sexual assault to school a year ago? Or is this *surprise surprise* the first time she has brought it up in any type of official manner?

Maybe a monetary consequence is needed. Maybe that's what should be done to help combat false rape claims and other feminist bullshit. Just start suing the shit out of everyone. It's the American way. Bonus points if we get a female lawyer on board.

seriously, I thought the picture above was of the guy accused of the attack, not of Lori Chambers, the woman chair from the women studies task force!

Its Canada, no sue-happy option. He (an older guy apparently) would have to go to the Canadian human rights board to complain (gov't run) and they are staffed with the same ilk as the wo-man studies dept head.

edit: and I agree, its enraging. I wish I could just run into the streets and yell "Donald Trump has robbed me, I demand justice!!! but lets not involve the police or a court of law". I wouldn't get bags of money for doing that, I would get sued for defamation.

I sure wish we could change the system to prevent men from entering pleas of not guilty when accused of rape. I mean if you really stop to think about it, it wouldn't really change any of the outcomes, but it would save us all a tremendous amount of time and energy on redundant proceedings, and it would also save women from the needless headache and hassle of pursuing justice.
