No copays for birth control, breast pumps & domestic violence screening.All new plans must cover certain preventive services such as mammograms and colonoscopies without charging a deductible, co-pay or coinsurance. Women’s Preventive Services – including well-woman visits, support for breastfeeding equipment, contraception and domestic violence screening – will be covered without cost sharing in new health plans starting in August 2012.

SEC. 2713 [42 U.S.C. 300gg–13]. COVERAGE OF PREVENTIVE HEALTH SERVICES.

‘‘(a) IN GENERAL.—A group health plan and a health insurance issuer offering group or individual health insurance coverage shall, at a minimum provide coverage for and shall not impose any cost sharing requirements for—

‘‘(1) evidence-based items or services that have in effect a rating of ‘A’ or ‘B’ in the current recommendations of the United States Preventive Services Task Force;

‘‘(2) immunizations that have in effect a recommendation from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with respect to the individual involved; and

‘‘(3) with respect to infants, children, and adolescents, evidence-informed preventive care and screenings provided for in the comprehensive guidelines supported by the Health Re- sources and Services Administration.

‘‘(4) with respect to women, such additional preventive care and screenings not described in paragraph (1) as provided for in comprehensive guidelines supported by the Health Re- sources and Services Administration for purposes of this paragraph.

‘‘(5) for the purposes of this Act, and for the purposes of any other provision of law, the current recommendations of the United States Preventive Service Task Force regarding breast cancer screening, mammography, and prevention shall be considered the most current other than those issued in or around November 2009.

Last summer, HHS released new insurance market rules under the Affordable Care Act requiring all new private health plans to cover several evidence-based preventive services like mammograms, colonoscopies, blood pressure checks, and childhood immunizations without charging a copayment, deductible or coinsurance. The Affordable Care Act also made recommended preventive services free for people on Medicare.

The announcement builds on that progress by making sure women have access to a full range of recommended preventive services without cost sharing, including:

■well-woman visits;
■screening for gestational diabetes;
■human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA testing for women 30 years and older;
■sexually-transmitted infection counseling;
■human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) screening and counseling;
■FDA-approved contraception methods and contraceptive counseling;
■breastfeeding support, supplies, and counseling; and
■domestic violence screening and counseling.

Keep your attention on the more important parts.

ONLY women will be given coverage that includes domestic violence screening and counseling

What does this mean?

'Counselors' are going to be paid, under the guise of health care, to keep files on men, who may or may not be violent, to, in part, give these women more leverage in court proceedings during custody hearings, child support, alimony, restraining orders, ect...

Basically, you are going to have an army of feminists who are going to act as private detectives, lawyers, and law clerks, exclusively working for the benefit of women, against the interests of men; with no provisions in the law for the same benefits to be afforded to men. All of this paid for by insurance companies and tax-payers.

Do you not see the problem with this?

ohhhh shit. I did not see the domestic violence screening part. That is very bad news. Have you ever seen how cops ask a woman about domestic violence? They ask the question up front, sometimes with an "are you sure he isn't hitting you?" its like when you ask a child what color something is and then hint at the answer. Thats going to happen at every check up now, fuck.

I was only previously irritated that a woman has no copay for her check up but a man has $35 max...by law...for an easier checkup...everything is on the outside and guys have no birth control or tits.

There really is no reason for me to stay in the USA, if I can get my money right. What a disaster this country is becoming under this feminist govt. lead by this feminist president. The only reason I wanted to stay here was the economic advantages and that is disappearing quickly and will completely disappear after immigration reform.

Men are able to get STDs. If it was really about "not spreading diseases" then men would get screenings without co-pays as well. While there is benefit for us when women have access to cheap contraception, this fact wasn't the reason why these pro-woman parts of Obamacare were enacted. It's simply a handout to women so that Democrats (and Obama) can be seen fighting against the "war on women." It's a cynical political ploy, and by saying it's okay, you agree that women should receive more tax benefits than men, even though they pay the same rate. It used to be that a man had to take care of the health of his wife, but now we are all legally required to take care of the health of all women who decide they want to have fun and sleep around without condoms.

Ive wondered if you could share the top notch most expensive insurance with 10 other guys. Just get fake id's in other states off of the black market (Silk Road alternative since SR shut down) and pay the real guy every month. With 10 guys it might come down to like $10-20/month for each person and as long as yall each use a different doctor, hell, you could all be in different states, it will be untraceable. Each person could take advantage of almost full coverage with the lowest deductibles...

How on earth would it be untraceable? First, you would need a primary care physician who can refer you to a specialist when you need it.

How on earth are you going to justify having 10 primary care physicians?

Here is a better solution: if you are young and healthy, don't get medical insurance. If you get sick or injured, sign up for obamacare on your way to the hospital. It is totally legal to do this now, and you can not be charged more or denied coverage for having a pre existing condition.
