Differences between what we do and what feminist do.

1.) We don't promote instant gratification and laziness. Most men when they see a guy who is physically fit we know we can get there with sacrifice, self discipline and hard work.

2.) We don't HATE men who work out. We are indifferent or inspired. Women HATE women who take care of their bodies and feminist try to FORCE a new standard that says "Why shouldn't someone except you for you....your lazy, self indulgent, and unhealthy...you" They try to act like women who work out are narcissist, but the fat/out of shape women are the real narcissist. They believe they are entitled to admiration and that they SHOULD NOT have to work for it.

3.) Women are disingenuous and Betas allow them to be. Not saying that any of these men couldn't get women, but for men to allow women to convince them that they are fine the way they are is criminal when you see the type of men that has actually penetrated these women or better yet the men these women DREAM would penetrate them. I can guarantee its none of the guys above (well maybe the bald guy, he's actually muscular). Men on the other hand show a women EXACTLY what she should look and act like to be attractive. We don't tell women "you are fine just the way you are...all 226lbs of you" we would tell them "you should loose weight and you'll be fine", "you should be more feminine and you'll be fine", "You should dress sexier, and you'll be fine." Women tell men the EXACT opposite of what they seek...and i believe its out of some sick twisted enjoyment they seek like watching a fish out of water flapping for air.

Its more but you guys can have at it.

The guys on the left are decent looking. The upper and middle look confident, the lower seems to be trying for sensitive hipster. In fact he may be Edward Snowden under deep cover. Their bodies are decent by the standards of fat America but nevertheless flawed. All 3 could pull with some Game. 3 months of gym and all 3 would be in better shape than 80% of the guys out there.

I have little idea what point they're trying to make here. Everyone knows a guy out of the top 5-10% in looks is out of the looks Game at birth. It's not like they're taking beefalos and saying they are beautiful because they slather themselves with Dove.

True, men don't whine about the privilege of fit and attractive men. But they are influenced by what the media tells them is the male ideal. Men are more vain and self-conscious about their looks today than ever.

As you mentioned OP, this campaign won't work - because we are motivated by men who are in shape. These men don't threaten our self-esteem - any normal bloke will look at the male models and go 'fuck maybe I should hit up the gym a bit more and stop eating shit'. We don't spend hundreds of hours worshiping celebrities, looking into the latest diet fads, finding out who put on 50 pounds - to make our hamsters rest.

Men are no-where near as judgmental when it comes to aesthetics and certainly don't need reassurance by companies to tell us our body shape is 'normal'. Just look at all the men's health magazines - it shows shredded guys throughout them - and even guys who aren't fit eat it up. That shit inspires us!

Yeah, it's interesting. But it's a rare exception honestly.

Look at sculptures and paintings from the rest of the world in ancient and medieval times.

The Greeks and to a lesser extent the Romans are the outliers. Most cultures did not idealize muscular men. Look at medieval European, Chinese, Persian, Indian, Mayan art, etc. In fact, as far as art went, they did not even exist. It'd be an interesting study to figure out why this is.

Anyway, bringing it back to modern times, the obsession with muscular men only really got going in the 80's and really much more the 90's.

I'm not a fan. Good looking guys with little muscle tone in the 60's, 70's, and 80's used to get the same sort of attention as their counterparts today who slave in the gym. Guys are working harder today for more obese women. I'm sorry - as a man who religiously works out, I do not see this as progress. The media is brainwashing guys just like it is women.

Edit: To speculate, maybe the Greeks idealized muscular men because they also normalized homosexuality more than other civilizations. Gay men are superficial about men like we are about women.

For myself at least, I value beauty, and so I just don't want to look at adverts like this. I think a lot of men would agree with this (not wanting to sacrifice beauty to spare their egos).

I agree that the media has had some influence with regards to men being in gyms, using steroids etc to try to get big. Myself, I would have thought that the lean muscular type of body (Brad Pitt in Fight Club, Zab Judah etc) is the ideal, but a lot of men these days consider them to be too small.

On the other side of the spectrum you have the whole skinny thing, with a lot of models in the fashion world now needing to be over 6 feet tall, with a 34-36 inch chest, and a 28-29 inch waist (for Paris anyway, not so much Milan). That whole movement also seems to have a lot of influence, with all the indie kids etc trying to be as skinny and emaciated as possible.

While I do think clothes look better on skinny people, to me neither extreme is aesthetically pleasing, but can definitely begin to seem normal the more time you spend in each environment, or the more you are exposed to the images etc.

We don't live in that world. After a lift the muscles get bigger, there is an endorphin rush, the liver is emptied of glycogen so it is ok to eat some carbs, you feel better, and you know you've helped your bones as well as the muscles. It is good practice for meeting goals.

The issue with health is that it's hard to put on bulk and do cardio.

I believe you are mistaken. Every culture, every single one, has associated good health with beauty. Being strong and muscular is an indicator of health, thus it is beautiful.

Now, I will concede that our culture is highly sexualized with the showing of skin - both for men and women - and this isn't normal. The vast majority of cultures have not been like this. Rome and Greece were, however, and both of those cultures are our direct ancestors. Rome especially, that one lasted for 1000 years. Dismissing Rome is basically dismissing the history of the world.

Work out for your health and yourself. Most guys aren't doing physical labor so they need it to be whole men.

The fact that chicks like muscles is a bonus.

I had an ex gf who had issues with masculinity and men and I used to make her touch my flexed muscles. She pretended she didn't like it and said she liked thin guys. After a few minutes of touching my chest and arms she was begging for sex. This was before I lifted and all I had was the legacy of farm and construction work as a kid and teen. That was at 125#. If she saw me at 150 having lifted she would have gone nuts. If you haven't experienced that hit the gym or jack off to the fantasy of it and when you want it for real hit the gym.
