I was just gonna make a thread about this. I am absolutely shocked to see how biased and pro-government a mainstream journalist can be. As Roosh's twitter feed said, if you thought American journalists were being bad this was just another level.

I am not a fan of Greenwald on all issues (Islam) but on this I absolutely support him.

Her point about "at least being safe" in the first 3 minutes of the interview made me cringe. Greenwald owned her.

Greenwald is a very formidable on-air guest that interviewers should be careful when questioning. He's able to confidently articulate cogent points in rapid-fire succession. A lawyer by training, he's adept at using clever rhetorical devices when challenging ideas.

Despite a slight gay twang, he has very impressive gravitas, more than almost any prominent politician alive. His manner is a window to the surety of his conviction, that he is doing right and that his foes are implacably contemptible and stupid. The interview does little to dispel that...

LMFAO! This guy is a tough customer--people don't get that and fail to prepare adequately for him, and he destroys them.

With every interview he proves time and again that his critics are sycophantic authority worshippers and that he is, basically, the last honest man in the corrupt and debased profession we insist on calling "journalism".

The only thing preventing him from getting knocked off is that he's too high profile. May he live long and continue to be a thorn in the side of authoritarians and their worshipful stenographers in the mainstream media.

Yeah, and that video was uploaded by the BBC. They know they messed up being too transparent in their attempt to downplay spying on citizens by GCHQ and NSA.

It's really a shame that this interview was conducted the way it was.

Yeah, by "they" I meant YouTube. Just noticed yesterday on an unrelated clip where comments were allowed that it wouldn't let me comment anon.

I met Greenwald at a reception years ago, when he was on tour for his first book, How Would a Patriot Act?

We talked for awhile about foreign policy issues, I told him he was a great American, he said thanks. Glad I said it.

I started reading Greenwald when he had his blog, then when he moved to Salon. He was the only thing worth reading on Salon when they had him. Although his politics may be more left than many here would like, his intellectual honesty and rigor are second to none. He was one of the few that would take Obama and Democrats to task with as much vigor as he took the Bush Administration to task.

That "journalist" interviewing him could be a character from 1984: the outright hostility she had to Snowden, and the sycophantic blind support of the surveillance state was simply incredible to watch. I mean we talk about the US going downhill, but I think the UK tripped, fell, and took an early lead on us. Christ.
