I'm in the market for a new bed frame, but am having far more trouble finding a dope one than I thought I would.

I'm debating whether or not to go with a platform bed or something a bit more traditional. I have an excellent mattress, but I've lied down on several at stores and they seem a bit stiff without the box spring. Could be that the mattress wasn't high-end, but I'm a big fan of having an incredibly comfortable bed.

Anyone know of a store/website that has IKEA-style beds that are higher quality? I can spend whatever is necessary, but for some reason I am hesitant to go out and blow 2K on a frame alone, especially when it's barely above IKEA quality, but has the look and is from a higher-end store.

Any ideas on this? What's everyone else rockin' right now?

Really need to get my mattress off the floor soon...

i got a great platform bed on overstock.com

was like $250 and it sturdy as hell, made from solid walnut

Platform has horizontal slates that hold the bed. Frame is generally a container shape that holds the boxspring which in turn holds the mattress.

I am partial to a design that has drawers built into the platform i.e. this

In my mind, yes. I like sleek and simple furniture, personal preference.

Just need the platform bed and the mattress. Memory foam king size from Costco $700. Total package less than 1k for a bomb set up
