Scar Tissue and The Dirt
Anyone read these? An Anthony Kiedis autobiography and one on Motley Crew in the 80s. Im not big fans of either but want to read some crazy drug and groupy stories.

Kiedis' book is decent. IT focuses more on the drugs and not so much on the music. Lots of heroin use.

I read Scar Tissue.

Kiedis moved out to LA to live with his dad when he was 12. He hung out at the Rainbow with his dad, a drug dealer to the stars.

Overall it's a solid read. It's also amazing that he is still alive.

You want to know the only thing you can assume about a broken down old man? It's that he's a survivor.

Drug and groupie stories...I'm about halfway through "American Desperado" by Jon Roberts. The bio of the original "Cocaine Cowboy" who was originally a mafia soldier and then moved to Miami to become a big-time drug kingpin. Numerous great anecdotes about sex, drugs, and debauchery in the 1970s and 80s.
I hear it's being made into a big budget Hollywood movie right now with some big name stars....

Heroin diaries from Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe bassist) is pretty intense. Keen to check out those after I finish the couple of books I'm on

I read Scar Tissue. Not many groupie stories but he talks about his drug problem. Loved it, even though I wasn't a Peppers fan when I read it. What really got me was how he treats groupie sex blandly, even though there are guys who would kill to get that.

His childhood's fascinating though.

I read The Dirt about two years ago. Checked it out of the library. There was some wild stories and it was actually pretty funny.

Stuff like, after a gig they would smash some groupies and then buy burritos and stick their dicks in them, so their girlfriends couldn't smell pussy on them.

I also liked how the author took a situation, or an incident that happened and then wrote it from all of the band members perspective.

"It's So Easy: and other lies" by Duff McKagan from Guns N' Roses. Great book especially how he got off the drugs and booze through martial arts training with Benny the Jet Urquidez. Duff was already at his peak with his band, fame, money and could pretty much get at girl he wanted he looked at Benny and his guys and was like "I want to be like these guys."
