Wanted to watch because James Spader has always been the super reserved Alpha guy I wanted to be. He has a good role, but they focus on this twit woman who looks like a 23 year old Sears model and is supposedly a "board certified forensic", which is impossible. Sloppy writing.

She gets catapulted to dealing directly with the Assistant Director of the FBI, has a beta husband with whom she is trying to adopt a kid but she is JUST SO BUSY AND IMPORTANT.

It is such blatant, blatant pandering to the dumb female audience, with sloppy writing and unbelievable dumb FBI agents who fall for the stupidest ruses by the criminals.

What a waste. They could have had Spader star, gotten better writers... but if wishes were fishes Americhicks wouldn't be witless.

I got pissed off while watching it because of the main character's role as blatant wish-fulfillment you-go-girl fodder.

But did you notice the super-competent characters that James Spader called in to fix problems for her?

All men. I doubt it's a deliberate decision, but it reflects (real) reality:

If you want a specialist then what you want is a man.
If you have a woman center stage, there are lots of men whose work put her there.

The show is good but god damn does it appeal to women

I think it was episode 2 or 3 where these male CIA guys are trying to explain the value of Spaders character to the agency to their bosses who are old women.

The relationship between elizabeth keen and spaders character has not given enough time to develope. For instance its already been discussed that Keen has no idea about who her father was and I suspect later in the show it will be revealed that Spader is her father. I suspect this is why this young attractive woman is given so much attention in the script writing. The writers are aware they have to write a heroine character to make the show and the plausablility of elizabeth keen existing in real life or given such a prominent role on the show requires the audience to suspend disbelief more than usual. Anyway wait for her relationship with spader to be explained and that will make the show more believable.
