Bill Clinton: Chelsea would make a great president
Quote:Forget Hillary. Bill Clinton thinks Chelsea would make a better president — at least in the long run.

In an interview with CNN's Piers Morgan that aired on Wednesday night, the former president was asked whether his wife or daughter would be better in the White House.

"Day after tomorrow, my wife because she's had more experience," Clinton said. "Over the long run, Chelsea. She knows more than we do about everything.

"There was a time in her childhood when I thought maybe she thought she did when she didn't, now it's highly embarrassing because she in fact does," he continued. "So, I feel like I'm going to school every day when we have a conversation."

The 33-year-old former first daughter has taken a larger role in the Clinton Global Initiative, which is holding its annual meeting in New York this week.

Last week during an appearance on "The Daily Show," Chelsea Clinton told Jon Stewart she's purposely avoided politics "for this point in my life," but left the door open for a possible future following in her parents' political footsteps.

I have no interest in this. Bill Clinton is a worthless piece of shit. His idea of direct game is raping a woman and then threatening her safety to her to keep her silence.

I like Clinton's record as a president and would be glad to see him as president again. His family, though? Nope.

It is best to never speak any ill against our former president, or any other democrat for that matter, especially the current one. No good will come of it here.

It's pretty wild to think about how modern American political leadership at the top has been dominated by two families.

As for Bill Clinton, he's done quite well for himself since leaving office. Makes a killing on the public speaking circuit. He once got paid $700,000 for ONE speech in Nigeria!

America has a weird quasi-monarchy when it comes to their presidents.

Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton.

George Bush, George W. Bush.

JFK, RFK (nearly elected) and a presidential run from Teddy Kennedy.

It is odd for the land of freedom and democracy that it feels like a family dynasty more than a democracy.

I don't mean any hate. Just saying it is pretty different to the UK - where family relatives never run for prime minister.

RE: Bill Clinton: Chelsea would make a great president
To add to the above - I just found this:

Quote: George W. Bush (the 43rd president) is the son of George Bush (the 41st president).

John Quincy Adams (the 6th president) was the son of John Adams (the 2nd president).

Benjamin Harrison (the 23rd president) was the grandson of William Henry Harrison (the 9th president).

James Madison (the 4th president) and Zachary Taylor (the 12th president) were second cousins.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt (the 32nd president) was a fifth cousin of Theodore Roosevelt (the 26th president). Genealogists have determined that FDR was distantly related to a total of 11 U.S. presidents, 5 by blood and 6 by marriage: John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Ulysses Grant, William Henry Harrison, Benjamin Harrison, James Madison, Theodore Roosevelt, William Taft, Zachary Taylor, Martin Van Buren, and George Washington.

Clinton could have had any chick in the world. People who met him say he is the most charismatic person they have met. An uncle told me this as well. And he has met more than one president.

RE: Bill Clinton: Chelsea would make a great president
Bill Clinton tried to push a far leftist/feminist agenda his first two years. Back then the country had more informed voters and in the midterm elections the Democrats got run out of Congress.

Bill then had to decide to probably get kicked out in 1996 or go along with the Republicans. So we had 6 years of pretty solid economic policy to go along with the tech boom.

But if he had his way, he would be pushing for much the same as Obama and his wife will want. More leftist feminist socialist policies. Hence him giving the speech at the 2012 Democratic convention.

As bad as things are now, it may not really matter and by the time Chelsea is old enough as there may not be any more elections.

Don't forget as well that Jeb Bush has been mentioned as a potential future candidate.

Clinton balanced the budget. Can't have that now, can we.

No...

In 1999 he had no budget deficit, but that was largely due to the enormous tax revenue from the tech boom.

Which eventually lead to the tech burst. And Bill Clinton left office with the USA in a recession, and an economic down turn that lasted 2 and 1/2 years.

What does the budget have anything to do with Clinton getting chicks?

Besides, Clinton wouldn't be balancing anything if he was in office right now.

I am sure Congress had nothing to do with budgets either. tard

But to be fair - the monarchy has no political power in the UK. They are not even allowed to vote.

Interesting.

As I remember, there's always some bit in the news these last few election cycles where they show both presidential candidates coming out of the voting booth, smiling and joking about voting for themselves.

Interesting that the monarchy can't exercise what would be considered by most to be a basic right.

Well, they have $$$ power thanks to the British taxpayer. The unelected Queen Elizabeth pulls in $50 million a year thanks, in part, to you and your countrymen.

RE: Bill Clinton: Chelsea would make a great president
I'm not sure the Clinton Global Initiative is the best launching pad for her. I understand it is more of a shill corporation for the ego of the Clinton's and it's corporate sponsors than most charitable organisations. Frankly I don't think a hedonist like Bill Clinton (no, I'm not criticizing him for this) should be pretending to do charitable works. It doesn't ring true to his personality. The photo ops in Africa, and elsewhere, are just that, photo ops.

Anyway, I doubt Chelsea Clinton has the gravitas to be president. Even Hilary is a much better match than her daughter.

Minus the ~$750 million in tourism that the palace and other sites create. Cardguy was merely talking about how much homogeneity there is at the top of American politics/governance like there is anywhere else even though you might not expect it (or perhaps not hope to have it) from a republic.

RE: Bill Clinton: Chelsea would make a great president
The clever thing about having an unelected monarch is that it allows for patriotism and nationalism to be celebrated in a non-political way. The twentieth century is largely the story of dictators who used nationalism as a way of achieving power and warping the minds of the voters. So - it is worth it for that alone.

It is basically impossible for a Hitler type to rise to power in the UK. Indeed - the Queen has final say in who gets to be prime minister (should she choose to use the power). And the people who work for the government actually work for the Queen and not for the prime minister. So if the shit hit the fan - there are ways and means for a dictator to be gotten rid of.
