Ted Turner's an alpha male who succeeded in life, blew through women like it was an Olympic sport, and out of a combination of genuine bleeding heart compassion and joyful spite wants to foreclose the possibility of younger guys following in his footsteps.

He said this to an audience of women at international women's earth and climate, so consider his audience when he made these statements and it makes sense. He is trying to be charming. Ted Turner is an eccentric billionaire and you should expect him to make insane/eccentric statements at such a venue. I am sure he got a lot of applause for it.

Yes, but the problem is amongst femcunts this will be taken seriously. Turner will be seen as an authority figure and the idea gain traction.

Then the next raft of feminists will see an opportunity for free stuff and it gains further traction.
