This poll is a little different.

Choose the religion you think is best, for whatever reason you want.

Let's say you are an Atheist who thinks that Christianity is the best religion because it fostered civilization. You pick Christianity. Or you hate religion and think it causes intolerance and death. Pick atheism. Or you think Jesus Christ really was the Messiah. Pick Christianity.

Talking about religion isn't going to change anyone's opinion and is just going to foster arguments and tensions. The other poll was simply the collection of data for some kind of RVF religious profile, this poll is a matter of opinion. Probably best to not have made the thread.

They all sound good on paper. Problem is they only care about their own. They're all guilty of it.

Example: It's a sin to kill(unless they're a non-believer of your faith)

After all the bullshit ...all religions are about keeping people in line and making money off them.

Best religion in what way? You first have to define what you mean with best "best". Both Christianity and Islam is based on Judaism. If you look at the numbers. Islam is growing in numbers because they have more babies. Christians are having less babies and most Christians leave their faith tobecome Atheist. So if it comes down to numbers you have your answer. Now if you want to look at which religion is "superior", there is no answer. Everybody will say their own religion is superior. By the way Zoroastrianism, who follows that? That religion died out long time ago.

I voted for atheism.

I think religion did play a role in holding the hand of primitive man and helping bring society to where it is today... People looked to the sky in belief that their good deeds and productive contributions to society would lead them to an enjoyable afterlife.
But on an individualistic level and in a modern context, I think what is far more important is acknowledging the reality that you have a finite (and short) time between birth and death, with no magical theme park to look forward to afterwards, and that you should accomplish your dreams and goals within that time frame and maximize your happiness in the here & now.

Do atheists achieve their dreams and goals or do they pursue hedonism at the expense of their posterity?

Atheism may be good for an intellectual elite with strong character and good upbringing, but I fear it is an opiate for the masses.

Any religion that gets me access to a network of high-worth individuals is good for me. Since the best men belong to varying religions depending on where you stay, this means that the best religion will vary from place-to-place. Usually, this means going for the minority religion in an area.
