So thanks to the help of the "How to get laid on OKCupd" thread I have updated my profile which has led to more responses and first contacts from females.

This has led to the last two girls that have banged, admitting to getting abortions. Other than wondering why they would even admit that, that got me thinking.

Is this a common thing among girls nowadays?

That makes it a total of four girls in the last two months that have told me that themselves or one of their friends have had abortion.

In fact, I had a girl in college try to pin the, "you got me pregnant" in college AFTER she told me got an abortion. She even wanted to continue to have sex after the fact. Turns out she was banging another dude raw though.

Is this percentage high? Or do most girls just keep the baby and end up as young single mothers?

Abortion rates vary by class and education. The majority of girls who have abortions have never graduated college.

The abortion rate for college grads is 13 per 1000. For high school dropouts its 23 per 1000, and high school grads 20 per 1000. Surprisingly however, girls who have "some college" education, meaning they went to school and didn't complete a degree program had the highest rate of all 26 per 1000.

My theory is that women with only a high school education may be more likely to keep the children of unplanned pregnancies and become single mothers. Women who graduated from college are smart enough to avoid most unplanned pregnancies. But women in between, who have some college education, are feckless enough to have unplanned pregnancies but smart enough not to want to become single mothers.

I see this even among girls who are sisters. The one sister who went to community college will have had an abortion and her college grad sister hasn't. Of course this may not apply in your case assuming these girls graduate.

Any reasonably attractive woman (6+) who is still childless in her mid-to-late 20s is probably as likely as not to have had an abortion. You figure most of them have been sexually active for around a decade at that point, and even if they were on birth control the entire time, the dice occasionally still turn up snake eyes. I have had a number of girls in this demographic confess to having had abortions in the past, and since that's the sort of thing most girls would rather keep quiet about, I assume it's pretty common.

I think the stats that Therapsid references distort reality a bit because they appear to factor in ALL women, which includes the fat, the married with children, the old, etc... (If this is wrong please correct me, Therapsid). The abortion rates for attractive young, women have got to be much higher than the average, simply because attractive, young women are getting banged out much more than the average and are much more fertile than average.

Also, the "some college" designation applies to another large and important constituency: girls who are currently attending college. In my experience, these are the girls who are the most likely to have abortions. They are having a ton of sex, drinking, partying and doing drugs, and often get careless with their birth control. They wind up pregnant, are mortified, and quietly get an abortion. They have a vision of the future that does not include a college pregnancy, and they have no intention of giving up their carefree lifestyle at that point anyway.

That girl never ended up graduating college. She ended up having a meltdown and going into a deep depression.

Yeah, there's probably some truth to this. Where I went to college it was completely unheard-of for a girl to have a kid, but of course a substantial percentage of them were going out, getting shitfaced, and rawdogging some dude on the regular. And I often overheard girls telling other shit like "so I forgot to take my birth control..." which makes me think a lot of these chicks must have been getting pregnant and quietly having daddy pay for their visit to Planned Parenthood. I actually found out about this situation going down once or twice, but it's something that's so easy to keep quiet that I have to think it was just the tip of the iceberg.

I wonder what the rate of use of the morning after pill is. I have a suspicion that more educated girls will be more likely take Plan B because they're smart enough to want to avoid getting pregnant even after doing the deed.

Okay great, I just found the data from the CDC. Yup, my guess was correct. College grads are more likely to use emergency contraception than girls with lower levels of education:

Percentage of women 15-44 who have ever used Plan B

12% of college grads
11% some college
7% high school grad
6% high school drop out

So there you go. College grads are twice as likely to use the morning after pill. Just one way sluts can avoid having abortions.
