I don't think anyone is saying that vouching validates everything someone has ever posted on the forum or lends bulletproof credence to their internet persona, but it is definitely an important factor to take into consideration. For example, Mark Minter's internet persona and his beta reality are utterly irreconcilable. I'm sure that's the case for more than a few guys. I also think you can glean a few things from having a beer with a guy and watching him operate in a pick up environment.
Well, I knew Divorco was going to wind up banned again at some point.
As Alli pointed out, in real life, the guy is great to talk to, has all sorts of insightful information, is very helpful and supportive, and is financially a success story.
But as Alli also pointed out, there was some disconnect between his in person persona and his online one. I think maybe he was trying to make people think or question things.
Alli told me that he didn't know what to make of me before we met and hung out in the DR for 2 weeks straight and I was flabbergasted, yes FLABBERGASTED to hear I might be considered full of it.
Anyway regarding MiXX, When he had something like 14 rep points and I had 3 and he was the forum guru, I pm'd him about an idea I had setting up a bunch of casting calls for a reality show all across SA where the hottest girls are renowned to be.
I wanted it to be a full on LA production style casting. We'd cast men and women (men for the smokescreen) and then of course, we are videoing the casting. The next phase was to spend the next several nights taking different sets of girls out (now this would take about 8-10 forum members to pull off so it was going to be pretty badass) to meet with "producers" to see how they interact in their city etc. This was also going to be videotapped.
In short, done right, I know we could have had upper tier bitches throwing themselves at us and I told him about it.
He said we definitely needed to do it and left his number. I called him up thinking we could get something going and then I never heard back from him and I let the idea just sort of go stale.
Then I left the forum for the better part of a year while I was in an LTR.
When I get back, MiXX has gone and pretty much tried to copy my idea with his pathetic show on his own. He looked like a retard and I was actually surprised to see how incongruent he is vs his online persona.
I reposted my idea later on calling it "My Epic Plan" but again other than veteran posters, it was getting 1 star ratings so I dropped it.
Later I made it my mission (over a period of a week) to call him out from here and even posted a bit on NN forum before being banned (by him acting as mod)
Anyway, I know that idea would smash shit, and similar things have been tried but no one has done it the way I envision it. I've been through casting processes and I know the kinds of pressure the producers try to put on the people trying out in order just to get some funny shit on camera (american idol tryouts for example)
When you can strategically put that pressure in the right places, you can direct how these women would react.
That's a powerful tool, and the best part is. I think you'd have a fucking awesome show. Only it would be about us smashing "stars in their eyes debutants who act manipulative and get what they deserve" (we couldnt make ourselves look like assholes) that mislead scandelous women Cohen style (the way borat pretended to be foreign, can you imagine those waivers he had people sign??)
Would have been epic. Senior members descend on SA. The thought gives me chill bumps.

I too interacted online with Divorco(when he used to be kimleebj) and helped him with his okcupid/pof profiles. I was SHOCKED to learn how successful he was in life(books/wiki pages to his name), yet he was struggling with women. And he's not a bad looking guy either, even above average looking I would say.
I remember in one of my exchanges saying something like "the rest is just common sense" to which he replied with something like "yeah, common sense isn't what I'm good at". I sort of figured perhaps his problem was a pessimistic attitude or low self esteem due to not being as successful with women as he is otherwise.
I helped him completely re-write his profile and he liked it a lot but for some reason didn't make the changes live.

I think he abandoned it when he was on the verge of being banned. I don't remember the details since it was long ago, but that account was giving a lot of trouble.
All I can say is I know Divorco in the real world as well and while I have to rack my brain sometimes at the threads created by him I don't think he deserved to be banned. My 2 cents.

To be fair, I remember him giving a lot of good advice, but so did mark minter.
Mixx added value, but he was hung up on the race issue. I never doubted his intel on Columbia and inspired me to buy a last minute ticket to NYC.

It's one of the reasons I don't start threads when a member is banned. It's always the same thing: a pile on about his flaws mixed it with a couple posts of support. They offer no value to the forum. Friends of banned members can contact me in private.
