Mexico goes back to its old ways...
I'm not sure if you guys heard about this as it has barely started to appear in the US/UK media...
1 - Mexico released Carlos Quintero, a drug lord that was connected to the death of Enrique Camarena (the dude why red ribbon week started). He was sentenced to 40 years but only served around 30. He was released under the logic that his crime should be tried in state courts, not federal courts. The media was not aware of his release until he was out of jail.

2 - Mexican money launderer, Raul Salinas, who's brother, Carlos Salinas, was a president (PRI party) from 1988-1994 was recently acquitted of laundering 20 million dollars. This is in addition to the 130 million that the Swiss government froze, money stolen from a secret government account (in case SHTF).
How did this happen? The PRI Party, which used to rule from ~1912-2000 is back in power since November and is using its position to get its supporters out from jail and return to cronyism (not that it was much better 2000-2012).

So in other words, the crisis-ridden Mexico with sudden defaults and instability is back.
Edit: Narco Emilio Fonseca was also released today.
