Inverse Paternity Test
It's assumed that a majority of the members here, would run a paternity test on their offspring to ensure that the child is one's own and not a cuckoo.

I'm considerably taller than my parents, so when a friend asked "How did that happen?" it did inflict some anxiety about my parentage. I always attributed the height difference to better nutrition in the USA vs the 3rd world mom and pop grew up in.

That sliver of anxiety was magnified after reading Sperm Wars. Running a paternity test on my future kids is a given. However, would you do the inverse? Would you have a paternity test done to confirm that you are truly the son of your father?

When I fly out to visit my dad, I'm doing this, if only to squash any doubts.

"The whole point of being alpha, is doing what the fuck you want.
That's why you see real life alphas without chicks. He's doing him.

Real alphas don't tend to have game. They don't tend to care about the emotional lives of the people around them."

I wonder the same thing myself. I look like neither of my parents. Best to just put it out of your mind. Youll only despise your mother bc she probably doesnt know who the real father is if you arent your fathers' son.

RE: Inverse Paternity Test
I had a cousin who doesn't look much like his father at all.

I try not to think about it.

RE: Inverse Paternity Test
The only reason for doubt for me is that even though I'm within an inch of my dad's height, the growth pattern was significantly different (I was at 5'7'' all the way till the end of high school, then I had the final growth spurt.) Whereas my little brother matches up with my dad completely.

I agree that no good can come of this. If your hair, general facial features, and eye color matches your dad's, then just attribute the height differential to nutrition as you stated and leave it behind you.

RE: Inverse Paternity Test
SpiderKing: Height variations are normal; I know plenty of guys who are much taller than their dads. The average height of a boy is the mean height of his parents plus two inches. So if your dad is, for example, 5'9" and your mom is 5'7", their mean would be 5'8", and the average height of their sons would be 5'10" (one inch taller than the Dad, in this example). An inch or two variation around this (say, 5'11" or 5'9" or even 5'8") can easily happen. Plus, as you said, better nutrition factors into it.

I wouldn't be suspicious unless you were significantly taller than what would be reasonable.
