Special thanks to the RVF community/Career Advice
Pardon the random thread but I couldn't help it and wanted to share something personal.

Before stumbling upon RVF I was a broke college kid without any ambition, depressed, jobless....and without a car in Texas (basically, self-house arrest). Sometimes I would just sleep and not want to do anything. At times I would look for some jobs but get bummed after not finding any luck. It was 5 months like this and depression just got deeper and deeper. This is just after 2-3 years of traveling and balling, but my grants ran out and my clients dried up.

Then I read an article on Roosh's blog and stumbled upon the forum. There were many posts about: what jobs to get (Scotian), how and where to get new skills (YMG), game (Ali, Fisto, Germanico, et al), and self improvement overall (El Mech, G). The good thing about here is that members band together and help each other out, with some occasional meltdowns and whatnot.

Now I somehow gathered enough money to by myself a car, which earned me my driver's license, and applied to a crap load of jobs. No job secured yet but I'm getting a lot of phone calls back and interviews. I'm not depressed anymore and realized that getting a job is a lot like game...you need to learn how to get it and it's a numbers thing too. Picked up some books and videos to learn how to code (already know java) to become marketable in case SHTF. There's ambition, I'm thinking of two possible businesses to launch, but I need money so those are on hold. But the dumb depressed "feel sorry for me" attitude is gone. RVF has made me realize that if I don't help my self, no one else will.

I just want to thank Roosh for making the forum possible and it's members for contributing a lot of information and helping one another out.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
In another note, some career advice would be helpful...here's a list of my skills/exp:

Marketing intern - 2 months
Manual labor/cleaning offices - 10 years
Writing/personalizing contracts - 3 years
Selling contracts - 3 years
Fixing computers - 7 years
B.A in International Business (graduating in a few weeks)
Fluent in Spanish/English
Know HTML/CSS/Java
Currently learning PS/Indesign

I'm thinking of saying "duck it" and go to south texas to work in the oil/gas fields with fellow RVF member Houston.

Cattle Rustler, yea thats all well and good turning your life around but what we really want to know is if you have made the switch to baking soda for deodorant.

Hahaha, good one. I'll make the switch as soon as I run out of deodorant...there's like 2 sticks left in my cabinet.

Does switching to a "non-shampoo" shower count?
