So I was thinking of something useful to post around here are was surprised that there is no datasheet on this wonderland that is Cuba. Then again being that the forum is mostly comprised of American players, there might be a reason for it.

Nevertheless, I though I would make your day. I went to Cuba last year and was amazed by its potential and the good life that is there served to you on a platter for just a few pennies.

The underlying issue why not so many people are stocked about Cuba is because they buy those travel agency packages that let you spend 3 days in Havana followed by 5 days locked up in an all inclusive resort in Varadero. My friends, this is not the way to go.

The way to go is you book your first night in the hotel where Hemingway spent his days reflecting on the bitches that so heavily influenced his life and eventually may have made him shoot himself in the head. (I personally think he only shot himself in the head because he left this country.) Then you just take care of planning your trip as you go. I chose to spend some days in Havana and some days in Trinidad, a town some 300km away.

HAVANA
Havana is a hustler's city. You have to be smart and sharp. Keep your eyes open and your wallet in place. Havana is full of new friends to be met, but these friends always want something in return. It doesn't mean they mean you harm or meet you out of interest. They like to meet you, they will have fun with you, but they still expect something.

Havana is a town where you can party hard every night, wake up with the heat, pick up you backpack (which helps you carry your own bottle of 7 year old Havana Club which only cost you 7$, which you carry all day to keep your alcohol levels in place) and go to the Guanabo beach by taking the bus which costs $0.25. This beach does not have tourists, only cubanos and you can spend all afternoon in the water and even game some chicks. Maybe you could even invite the chick you met last night to join you. Regardless of chick or no chick you still get that pack of 20 cuban cigars (that you bought at the state shop for cubans that cost you $1/pack) out of your pack and smoke it under a cocunut tree with your rum bottle straight up. When the cigar finishes, you just go into the Caribbean sea with bottle in hand (like any other cuban) and float around taking a sip every once in a while and floating into paradise.

Then a bit after lunch Zeus has had enough of your contempt for walking in the gardens of Eden and sends down a hell of a storm to kick you out. You happily take another sip and get in the bus. You get back to the heart of La Habana Vieja (Old Town) and the streets are getting wet. So are you. So you decided to sit down at a random Bodega at have a mojito. The infusion calls for one more cigar. Meanwhile the owner of the place introduces himself and the band. The rain falls, the band starts playing and in Cuba you never close the door or the windows. Two bailarinas arrive. They just like to hang out and dance. You are on to maybe your fifth mojito now, you learn a couple of moves with the girls, clap to the songs and feel and learn the essence of the cuban 3/2 time signature salsa. You meet a local player, he can get you anything you need, maybe those Cohibas you dream about back home, or maybe some bailarinas. You'll take home two boxes worth $700 for $80, of cigars of course.

Now you know in the streets of Habana everything is for sale, or should I say everyone. Virtually, any girl you see on the streets can be yours for a fair, cheap price ($50). This is where game gets fuzzy. You can have any girl you want, yet you still get to game them. You can game them, they enjoy it, and you too. They become your friends, maybe more than friends, but in the end they still expect something from you.

A few days later you realize, they deserve it. As average you may think you are, your are rich. Another mojito for you, a months rent paid for them.

There's still place for real game, but it's a small place. Go to the higher end clubs at night, you'll find it. (Floridita, Casa de la Musica or the Cabarets)

Food can be rather cheap or expensive and sometimes it has nothing to do with the quality of it or the venue. Havana is a weird place. One of the best places I went to for dinner was one of the cheapest. (Los Nardos)

Accommodation is tricky, you have nice hotels but usually the price will be a bit heavy for what you get from them. I can recommend the Hotel Ambos Mundos. The Hemingway place, stylish, well located and fun.
Another option is getting a room in peoples homes. In Cuba citizens are allowed to rent rooms to tourists if they have a permit. These houses are tagged by a blue sign at the door with an anchor. This is a great option, you get to know some locals for free, it's cheap and they cook you some nice food. Downside is to get the chicks in you usually have to pay or negotiate and some may not even allow the concept. My advice: try it and then decide.

Las Habanas
The Havanese chick is slick, these are street girls and beware they know every trick in the book (on their book). They can tease you, they'll flirt with you. You have to be a guy with posture, act with ease, you are a macho, you don't laugh to hard or pretend to be a beta just to please. You don't know how to dance salsa? Okey, you will offer her the chance to teach you, you honor her with that.
In Cuba sexual tension is everywhere, they start out young and never stop. Sex is part of everyday life so don't much importance to it. It will happen as it is something everyone enjoys and where everyone wins.

Day game is stronger here I guess, but every Cubano is a pimp and will try to sell you their sister, cousin, mother and aunt if the grandmother is already dead. Sometimes they even try to sell you a girl they don't even know. It does not matter.

Trinidad

When you are fed up with the Havana hassle, run away to the poor's paradise. Havana prices/problems/polution/trouble divided by 3.

You get there and you let all the other tourists be picked up from the bus by the locals looking to put them in their homes and feed them beans to death.
Then when the coast is clear you stroll on mid day heat into a nice restaurant and eat something light, drink something heavier.

After that you wonder around UNESCO's heritage and eventually spot a two storey house with a balcony on top overlooking the sea. The cubano comes into to scene and tells you its taken but he knows of somewhere else. Good, he takes you to an old couple's house where you will spend a few days. José is a retired cook so he will gladly cook you a full lobster for $8 including mojitos of course. This lobster comes to the balcony every night, where you can smoke a cigar, have a chat with José and share the neighbours' random parties every night.

Trinidad has no cars, at least in the center. Of course for you José will get his friend, a doctor with a shitty taxi part time job to take you anywhere you want to go: The beach. Kilometers of deserted beach, like the one in Varadero only without the ones that got the tour: everybody.

Between the lobster and the beach you keep your Havana Club bottle close at all times, you visit the waterfalls close by. You go to the local market and you attend some salsa lessons. These salsa lessons will help you out at night. When the center plaza becomes filled by the sounds and the tourists glaze with envy at the latino dancers. So you drink, meet some local kids and escape into the local club. A club in a cave. Not much going on but the place is out of this world - all worth the $2 you paid to get in. You leave and the bottle is getting empty. You find yourself in a local bar/club. Open air. Locals. You grab a latin ass and start to spin. You can dance decently, decently enough. She asks for drinks "its only $3 for you", I respond good idea:
-Barman give me a rum and coke.
-$3 please.
-Sure here you go.
A bottle of 75cl of rum and a 33cl of coke gets dropped off on the counter.
-Oh they even know my portion ratio here! - Bliss
The end, she wants to come with. Logistics trouble, cant take a round ass latina home to my new lobster cooking grandparents' home. She lives far and has guests. Oh well maybe next time....

Spot on as far as experience goes but not a datasheet per se..Yes, you can have this lifestyle for 30 days - then what? It's hard with visas in Cuba for anyone. As a foreigner you are expected to pay more( over 10 times more) for the same products and services. It's hard for you to get laid without paying. The reason girls are so friendly with you is the expectation of some gift at the end or money. You have to know what everything cost, otherwise you will get ripped off with a smile! That ride to Guanabo for 25 cents - you know how many times the driver was quoting me 2-5CUC?..Every time! It gets to you very fast. I would say Cubans are the most dishonest people in the world,hustlers second to Thais only!
The only positive is protection from police and police is everywhere! You better speak Spanish too - in Cuba, if someone speaks English and is not a college professor - be wary,they don't speak English for no reason! They use it as tool to make money!
Girls..even the regular semi-pro are expecting around 35-50 USD gift after sex. You can have this in many other countries without the annoyances of Cuba. Shoring is possible but not as easy as in SE Asia for example. Yes- if you smoke/drink, you can do it all day cheap.
Cuban culture is so fucked up that as a westerner,I can't live there comfortable. You find out the girl who was introduced to you by a guy you know is indeed his gf or wife! That's normal in Cuba!...
Combine this with no internet access and no ability to withdraw funds from an ATM( not for Americans for sure) and it becomes not worth it anymore. Go one time for experience( like fucking your friend's wife) but don't plan to stay long.

I speak Spanish fluently, I think that is important.
Being American is a big disadvantage for sure, I'm not one so I wouldn't know it as well as you do maybe.

Still, Cuba is a cultural treasure, a beautiful land and populated by beautiful people as well. Sure they have become fucked up in some aspects by the economic environment they live in. When I travel I try to look at things in a positive way. They pay a high price for the life they have and they don't even appreciate it much. Hell, I probably couldn't live there either for a long time.

There's a flip side to everything and in Cuba I found traits of humanity that have been generally eliminated from our western feminist, religious and liberal society. And for me it is still a blissful place to be at even taking into account every problem you face there.

Agree with you Doc J, loved Cuba....I am american, stayed with a wonderful Cuban family, had no problems, got to see many sides of Cuban life I would probably not see holed up in a fancy hotel, and yes I plan on going back this winter....a longer trip to check out more places outside Havana...... Cuba does makes you think differently about the western lifestyle, and values in place....good and bad

Speaking Spanish is super essential in Cuba or you will end up dealing with people who work the tourists...pros, scammers... That will affect your perception of Cuba for sure. My Spanish is very basic plus Cubans Spanish was hard to understand for me.

If you had a hard time understanding cuban spanish, i am sure you wouldnt understand dominican spanish. Spanish people (from Spain) will tell you that cuban people speak some of the best spanish in latin america.

Trinidad Girls
Trinidad is really poor. There is no glamour. This being said young girls can be really cute but you will never see a dressed up one like you could find in Havana. If you go out at night to the few bars around (only 3 or 4 that I've seen) you'll find the average girl who usually goes out with family if she's young or friends if she's older.

The cuban woman has a super ass, somewhat small boobs and lucious skin which can go from white latina to really almost north african black. One thing I noticed is that they age really fast. A cuban girl will peak at 18 probably and then it's a downwards spiral. I guess this is because of the lack of products they have to take care of themselves properly and because they usually start some sort of manual labor very early in life.
The best thing about them is their body movements. These girls have dancing genes and you can see that by merely watching them walk.

From a psychological perspective, they are pretty upfront and with no time for submissive guys. They want a man that will take hold and lead and you wont have a lot of time to demonstrate some of that attitude. After that they are usually independent and practical. There's no illusion of getting together and living happily ever after. They know that doesn't exist. Complete opposite from SEA girls for example.

Rooms in Trinidad
Rooms are very easy to find. Once you arrive at the bus station, locals are already waiting like vultures to offer accommodation. I hid myself in the station's waiting room until they took all other tourists. My advice is to then look around and ask around for what you're looking for.

I saw some nice hotels in the center. Not sure about the price but my guess is that you could probably get a double for about $50 at one of the nicest.

Another option is to rent a room in a cuban's house like I did. The tip in this case is to be upfront about bringing girls home. Some of them wont mind but will probably charge you a bit more. I was paying $15 a night for a double room with AC and a two balconies. But I knew from the owners age and profile I wouldn't be able to bring anyone home with me.

Id say girl quality in Trinidad is near terrible compared to Havana. I use to be fanatical for Holguin but thats changed this summer after about 2 months in havana and 1 month in Holguin. Yes, a shitload of girls are expecting gifts for sex. You can have near any girl you want in the poor parts where tourists hang out in Centro and Havana Vieja because girls go there specifically looking to meet tourists...and make money.

Higher end game does not exist in Casa de la musica. Its loads of the hardest hookers there are.

Non hookers of quality go to places like Salon de Embajadores, Sala Atril, Don Cangrejo (depends a ton on the night...thursday is loads of hookers....Fridays and Saturdays not so much), Copa Roon.

It takes a while to get the hang of Havana, honestly my first month or so was a bit of a struggle, ending up at loads of places with questionable talent and or many hookers. The last month here has been unreal. Currently have 2 live in girlfriends both of which Ive sent pictures to julio of and he can judge as to whether he things the quality is good or not.

The provinces are boring as fuck, Trinidad included, I use to love it cause it was like tossing lay ups to get a decent girlfriend adn spent very little money compared to Havana. Havana once you get use to it has way more volume of hot girls and way more quality. It just takes time. Day game is great but if you wandering the Obispo and Malecon or centro havana in general in the day time be prepared to be gaming girls who are there to hunt tourists to make a buck. I enjoy it now as having been here so long its pretty obvious who is and who isnt hooking for the most part and many of the faces are familiar.

In terms of non pros this summer Ive had 14 in my 2 months in Havana with the vast bulk of them coming in the last month. Any guy you meet near tourist places is not worth your time of day. All he will do is hook you up with girls he knows are hookers and tell them to pretend they arent.. if you tell him you want normal girls. Your bills will be padded and he wont have a fucking clue what discos are good cause reality is that he doesnt have the money nor class to be permitted entrance to the quality places.

As a side note, a bottle of 7 year room is not 7 dollars not that it matters. I believe the price to be more in 11 range although Im sure thats irrelevant to most. Reserva is 8 dollars and a half bottle of Chivas Regal 12 is 16 dollars.

Guanabo is a great recommendation but, you have to go at the right time...when cubans have vacation in July and August. The rest of the year it will likely suck. Here its also hot as balls right now. In the campo (Holguin) it was like 43 celsius last week. Most people I know were sick with fevers myself included. Its thankfully a bit chillier in Havana but still hot as balls this time of year. I think nice short sleeve dress shirts may be ideal here. I cant imagine anyone suiting up. Youd be sweating so profusely it would like you were having asthma attack.

Il do a topic on restaurants later when Im back home, but right now im here until the end of August.

Im not sure Id recommend walking around with a buzz all day. I think the second a girl smells alchohol on you in the day time you are pretty much going to be looking at hookers for the most part. Classy and sexy girls here generally are not heavy drinkers. Heavy drinking really isnt popular here like in North America. Girls may have 1-3 beers, but more than that is unlikely. Its rare to see girls drunk at discos. Granted if you go to shitty places maybe there are more.

I am probably not the biggest volume chaser on the forum. Im sure a guy who was a seasoned cuban vet and a true playboy with language skills could do really really well. It takes a while to adjust here. Ive been coming for years and every day I learn new stuff. I cant imagine anyone coming here and truly killing it in there first 2 weeks to a month vacation excpet with hookers. Heck ive never soon a touristy looking guy pull at Salon de Embajadores yet and ive gone there with 6 different tourists thus far including a couple who were exceptionally good looking.

I have seen it, largely the sex for gifts type scene. Hes wandering around the obispo from what I recall which has probably the highest volume of hookers next to a select few night clubs. When I went to casa da musica it was reasonably well filled with some hot chics. Of course this was one night, not sure which day of the week. I'll be sure to use that information next time I get there.

While heavy drinking is particularily popular...a very large percentage of girls smoke, especially the pretty ones at the higher end venues. Many of them dont have lighters...girls basically rely on guys to buy them everything and being asked for a light from a pretty girl happens incredibly often. Many hookers use this as a technique but lots of normal girls as well. Heck if you see a girl with a cigarette unlit looking around you might as well go up to her and ask her if she needs a light as she certainly does.

How does it work with getting girls back to your room? I've heard there are legal restrictions against bringing girls back and a lot of hotels won't allow it- did you ever have a problem with this?

Hotels will be a problem with it and a pain in the ass. Casa particulars basically bed and breakfast type places are fine with it in Havana...Outside of Havana its a toss up with the majority of places requiring the girls to sign a book which is passed on to the local police which girls obviously dont like nor want to do.

Ive sent an email to you g. The first one is a runway model and the 2nd a ballerina. I ask that the photos be kept private but you can express your opinions. I sent them to Julio as well as I met Julio in Cuba. His friend had a few dates with the best looking girl Ive ever seen with a foreigner in any country. Unfortunately I dont believe his friend sealed the deal. Him and his buddies are great guys.

The one thing im still not sure of is where Id recommend staying. In the past ive been inclined to recommend vedado as its inbetween centro and miramar. Although all areas have there benefits. Miramar has the most amount of active nightlife venues. Centro has the easiest girls and the best food although there are loads of gringo hunters and prostitutes.

Doc_J is right about many girls wanting or hoping for gifts although Id say giving girls 35 or 40 bucks is essentially hooking. And many girls do take to this lifestyle largely as a material means to buy clothes and have money to go out but some do it simply to make ends meet each month. Personally ive made the mistake of giving girls 35 or 40 bucks or whatever in the past. With that said I give my long term gf a 100 dollar a month allowance. Some of you guys may consider that prostitution. I consider it maintaining her well being. It gives her some money when im not there to eat, get her hair done, buy clothes and go out and it effectively costs me very little and helps her a lot. Yes, generally speaking when you have a girlfriend here if you dont occasionally buy gifts for her and shes good looking she wont be your girlfriend for very long. But then again if you are in North America and all you do is sit on your ass and watch tv you probably wont have a good looking gf for very long. Cuban guys have the same problem and drastically less material means to satisfy there girlfriends and they make it happen.

Great insight as usual on Cuba lavidaloca! How is the timing to go to Cuba say between Aug to Oct. I heard that it's the hurricane season but on the other hand, I hear there's a lot of things happening during that time festival wise. Any good festival you could recommend?
Where would you recommend for a first timer to Cuba? Also, would you recommend a good quality, decently priced casa particular that won't give you trouble bringing girls back in?

I'd love to see the pics of girls you mention, that is if you don't mind.

It's always the same issue. I don't see how paying $100 a month to your girlfriend would classify as prostitution. Lot's of married men around the world have to spend 10 times that on their wives. In the end, its a great deal.

While I was there I met this girl who was obviously looking for a mutually beneficial arrangement. We hanged out for one or two nights and I never banged her. She was actually a very nice girl and in the end I gave her some money because I knew how hard her life was and for me it was really peanuts and then walked away, this is when I understood there was some real affection from her part and she even asked me just to stay with her and that we didn't have to have sex if I didnt want to(LOL). The point is that I didnt want to pay for sex, and she liked me but didn't know how to really go around her need for money so the situation got weird.

It is difficult nowadays to be able to tell when a girl is actually into you in any part of the world, but specially difficult in this kind of society where money is very valuable. My take is, if you really like a girl and have some cash to spend, why not? Just keep yourself alpha in the process.

Didn't want to bump this, but I had to ask : how do you guys solved the problem with money withdrawal from ATM?..Is it even possible in Cuba? The big risk for an American is if you get robbed by a girl ( and chances of that happening are high) you have no embassy to go to get help or an ATM card that works. You have to bring cash, all of it for the whole time you are there. I was thinking to maybe get an account in Mexico or Canada - any suggestions for an American?
On the side note: Cuba can be a relaxing place. No internet,sometimes no electricity, crime is low. I know a few places in Guanabo you can rent for 225 USD/month / 2 bdr apartments. If you ever wanted to forget it all and find yourself nice muchacha...maybe study Spanish? Cuban Spanish is real shit though - ask anyone who speaks Spanish natively!

About ATMs. I never had a problem but I'm not american so I don't get those scams. Americans I met just traveled with cash, preferably not american dollars. If you can, bring euros or canadian dollars.
Be smart. I got my wallet stolen once in but I always keep the basic important stuff at the hotel/room. Also carry money in separate pockets to minimize the trouble.

About cuban spanish. Spanish is different everywhere. Even inside Spain you'll find different flavors. I know Spanish pretty well and I wouldn't say Cuban Spanish is worse that Mexican Spanish for example. Of course you'll find the richest in Spain. Anyway it's an easy language to learn.

Wayout - The only problem is that they don't take American Express. But if you have a Visa you can go to ATMs and withdraw money easily.

Cuban Spanish is not so bad imo though.
