I said in another thread; there is nothing that women hate more than seeing men have fun... Because they're basically incapable of having it themselves.
Women lack the imagination and creativity to have lots of fun while doing absolutely nothing, the way men can. They have to buy shit or cause drama to have fun. So, just imagine how fast that hamster wheel starts to spin when they see guys laughing and enjoying themselves over the simple act of cooking meat on a grill.

This is why all things men enjoy must be stigmatized, destroyed, or infiltrated by women.

Speak for yourself. I know a few men who do just that. Maybe not out of necessity, but they are capable hunters and probably could live off it if push came to shove.

I think this just furthers the point that feminism can only be considered as a serious idealogical position when there is abundance of resources and extreme levels of specialization in society.

When a lot men of men work banal paper-shuffling jobs far removed from their biology, it's no wonder that people start to insanely think that women and men are exactly the same and have no unique strengths or weaknesses.

And yeah, the tone of the article reads like a hysterical woman who doesn't know what she wants. I was genuinely surprised that the author was (a bitch-made) male. At one point he laments that men do not know enough about cooking, and then in the next breath talks about the horrors of men discussing optimal methods for lighting a barbecue and the inexorable misogyny of kitchen knives. Reminds me of girls who want a buff guy, but hate that he goes to the gym.

The sad thing is that the "journalists" who write for the "comment is free" section do not do so for free. The Guardian actually pay them something for rubbish like this.

Anyway, just come out to South Africa where the rules of the Braai(BBQ) are that men make the fire and cook the meat, maybe while drinking beer. The women make the side dishes in the kitchen while gossiping. Men are not welcome in the kitchen. Women are not welcome to interfere with the cooking of the meat, though if it's a nice day (as it usually is) everyone socialises around the fire eventually. Trying to break these rules wouldn't make other people angry(at least at first), but rather make them laugh at the person making the social "faux pas". In any event feminists are unlikely to be invited to a braai in the first place.

This Mike Power character should really try to think of more interesting and meaningful topics to write about. A lot of talented people wish they had the kind if forum he has as a writer for the Guardian, even if only for it's website. He should be using his opportunity for more productive things than this tripe that will only move women dumb enough to try it further down the social ladder in their circles.
