Approaching a pretty girl (or group of girls) is a both a risk and investment. You risk your energy, time, brainpower and self-confidence for a shot at fulfilling your sexual desires.

However, in the course of these approaches, sometimes her body language just isn't there. She's not understanding your humor. She has poor flirting skills. Theres no kino. She's not investing in the conversation. There is an awkwardness in the air and things just simply aren't moving along in the direction you intended

How do ya'll typically handle these situations? Do you try to fix them by being wittier? Do you stick it out? Do you cut your losses?

I cut my losses.

If within 3 - 5 mins (or less) I'm not feeling it, then I figure she's not feeling me. However, I wonder how many opportunities I've missed (from shy/intimidated girls) from 'quitting on her' too quickly.

Sounds like you're making approaches but the chicks don't "Open", but you continue with your witticisms.

It's important to understand the technical/practical aspect of pick up.
If she's not listening to you, nodding along, itching to respond, SHE'S NOT OPEN.

Question then becomes what can I do to increase my open rates?

That's when you start to analyze the situation.
Are you opening at loud sports bars and night clubs with pumping music?
Are you at a house party or a kegger?
A neighborhood dive or an upscale martini lounge?
Custom suited down @ the bar of a 4 star hot restaurant?

Can she hear me?
Does my breath stink?

What am I wearing?
Do I look like i'm in shape?

There are lots of questions, most of which only you can answer.

But once you get a sense of the environment, then you pick an appropriate pick up style, the opener, and the spiel that comes afterward.

Yes i know what you mean when you say that you may be missing on shy/intimidated girls. I always used to walk away when the girl wasn't showing interest during my interactions till i started getting unexpected bangs.

I remember one time i approached this girl and she was literally just saying yes and no and she wouldnt maintain eye contact, i was getting annoyed and decided to leave..but before i left i decided to ask for her number just to see her response. She gave me her number and then i asked her if we could meet up the next day..she told me ''yes''..i was like ok kool, im out. Next day i called her and i had a feeling she was going to flake on me, but she told me that she was coming to meet me. After college she came to my place and after 5 minutes we were fucking, it was just one of these bangs that i never understood, she only showed how sexual she was once we were in my bedroom. I usually hate girls that dont have any sense of humour or girls that dont show me any interest but now when i meet girls like that, i will try take them to my house right there and then or i will ask for their numbers and invite them the next day to my house and then i go for the bang.

With those type of girls i dont waste my time building comfort.
