When an HB8+ says she and her new groom were "friends first" what does this really mean? I have some theories, since Game and personal experience tell me that this is impossible.

1) ASD - there was at least an early sexual encounter then a cooling off period for rationalization, then they resumed banging on the way to an LTR
2) She was HIS orbiter
3) There is a "friends first" beta Matrix world that I can see but not interact with.
4) Something else my greater omega mind is missing.

The cynic in me thinks that she was riding the carousel and finally realized it was time to get off. She knew she wasn't going to have a good life with the bad boys she'd been screwing around with, so she decided to pick a safe, responsible Beta friend to get romantic with and marry.

Not knowing her, I could be totally wrong. But I've seen this happen repeatedly. It's a cliche because it's true.

A couple more details for the repliers, the groom is a handsome jock/successful businessman so at least a greater beta, she was like 26 when they met, 29 when they married.

My immediate response, before seeing other comments:

8s and 9s tend to be more insular, and usually prefer to date guys they already know, or guys their friends know. They also spend less time single, and they monkey branch - they don't leave one relationship until the next one is all teed up. So she probably met him while she was dating another guy, and bookmarked him as 'read later' for when the current tenant vacates her box.

She becomes single, he's interested, she gives it a shot. The "she's looking to settle down with a beta" is possible, but not necessary - maybe it is true, maybe it isn't. He might be attractive enough to date anyway. [After seeing their ages:] More importantly, he was dating her when she was in her marriage zone, the age at which she decided to get married, and he dutifully complies.

Sort of echoes what DOBA and Dark Triad said.

I thought it would be about Online Dating.

When you ask girls what they are looking for, they say they are not looking for a relationship right away 'friends first'

I say that too since I can't say 'I just want to fuck you' or 'I want to get into relationship with you'
