Smith’s integrity issues have extended to his personal life, as well.

He told an artist ex-girlfriend at her gallery opening that he was dying of a mystery illness and maintained the story for over a year.

“He would repeatedly tell her that any level of stress could kill him,” says a former VICE employee. “He kept using the phrase ‘doctor’s order’ to excuse whatever he was doing, like taking phone calls, or spending time with her would kill him. In reality, he was messing around.”

The dude looks like he can play the sensitive artist role well. Perhaps the woman was wishing upon a star that Viceman would write a poem about her validating her life. Or maybe she thought he was the nest she could do and was hoping he'd stick with her.

What do Millennials with no education want to watch?

Fox? No, that's for white racists.

CNN? Mainstream. No image cred for watching CNN.

MSNBC? Only when their hero was up for reelection. Not much cred here either, I mean like, some people like, they just like take politics too seriously.

VICE is stepping into a vacuum and they could make billions.

Hipster douchebag Beta White Knight "reporters" offering up a guilt free freakshow.

Pure genius. Take an old concept, the freak show, and make it morally and ethically acceptable to self righteous young people who would never go to a real freak show because of the "exploitation and oppression."

Sell the product as "the real stories of real people" and don't worry about missign anything because whatever is missed can be dismissed as the mainstream's view of things.

They can pay the "reporters" expenses only. Once VICE becomes even cooler they will have people paying them to be allowed to report and get some fame.

My advice, invest in VICE if you can, they may make billions.

Errol Flynn's autobiography is a similar work of semi-fiction - when people want to believe something enough they won't question anything, no matter how ridiculous.

Haha. "Stress can literally kill me". That's brilliant. I wish I could think of stuff like and get away with saying it.

Anyway, as far as I can make out the actual or contrived personality of Smith and the other two founders of Vice is perfect for the shallow Canadian hipster chicks. My guess is that at the start hey were running their own game after accurately identifying their environment. And good for them.

Vice was founded in Montreal, but they moved base to NYC 14 years ago. So shallow (redundant) Brooklyn hipster chicks.
