The U.S. Marriage Rate Has Fallen 66% Since 1950
From the article, "Between 1950 and 2011 the US marriage rate fell "a stunning 66 percent," writes Stephanie Coontz in The New York Times. "If such a decline continued," she adds, "there would be no women getting married by 2043!" One presumes there would be no men getting married either, but that's of course if we're only talking heterosexual marriages. Now that DOMA has been declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, and new states secure marriage rights for all year after year, it's hard to predict precisely how the US marriage rate will be affected in years to come.

What disturbs me more than a declining marriage rate (which, truthfully, doesn't disturb me at all) is the fact that the rate of marriage is calculated to include 15-year-old girls getting married! Especially since in most states 15 is younger than the legal age of sexual consent, and in most states teens would need permission to marry at that age. What is encouraging, however, is that studies have shown that entering a first marriage later in life produces healthy unions that are less likely to result in divorce. (It should be noted that divorce rates are at their lowest level since 1970, as well.)"

Maybe guys just realize they are better off not marrying bitches? Or girls just think they deserve Mr. Perfect and are holding out into their 40s? Like this article about women who thought their lives should be like Sex in The City.

"At the age of 46, I accept that my opportunity to have a family has gone and the chances of meeting a decent man aren’t looking too rosy either.

"For me, the single girl lifestyle that I embraced and celebrated with so much enthusiasm in the Eighties and Nineties has lost much of its gloss, and is starting to look a little hollow.

I was part of the Sex And The City generation — successful, feisty women who made their own money, answered to no one and lived life to the full.

When it came to men, our attitude to them was the same as it was towards the latest must-have handbag: only the best would do, no compromises should be made, and even then it would be quickly tired of and cast aside."

I keep saying that the heterosexual marriage rates are what the real problem is. As for divorce, I don't know what data this crazy bitch is looking at, but the divorce rate has merely leveled off and could be rising (see the divorce section):

Alas, I don't really care anymore. Worrying too much about this stuff is pointless. I personally am looking for my exit strategy from the USA. I say let the USA burn for all I care.

I don't think this is at all driven by men that have decided to be playas for life. It's being driven by women's lifestyle choices. I truly believe that most men are open to getting married and starting families while in their 20s. Which would actually be best for the overall health of society.

yup. It's not that American men won't marry these bitches, it's that these bitches don't want to and don't have to get married.

Same thing plays out in all Western/Developed economies. Japan got it worse than us!

Bitches get education, get jobs, and suddenly the idea of chilling at home, cooking meals, cleaning, and looking after children seems awful in comparison to her life as a Massage Therapist x CEO of a fortune 500 company.

'WHERE IS MY AGENCY, WHERE IS THE MEANING IN MY LIFE'

Only to hear that biological clock ticking in her later years, and all of the acceptable suitors out of reach.

Throw in the fact that poor women and poorly educated women have no problems taking some dick and spitting out some kids - but even more delusional than educated chicks - she wants to be Kim Kardashian or Carrie Bradshaw - and has neither the looks, education, nor connections of any of those bitches.

Now she's a single mom still looking for alpha dick in a worse situation than her upper-middle class sister who has all the shoes and purses and no one to take her to the company gala.

A lot of my boys are now fathers. They love being dads. Husbands? Not so much.

Laugh2

So the fact that an older woman has less options to upgrade from her Beta husband whom she settled for in her 30s is now some kind of victory?
