Yeah, meeting girls in bars isn't a good strategy for happiness. But at 33, even though I know that to be a fact, I haven't quite learned it yet.

I always find it hilarious when guys try to turn one night stands from bars into stable girlfriends. For a good time girlfriend maybe, if you don't mind drama and eventual dysfunction in your life. But as serious gfs, they are a suckers bet.

Agreed! How do the "GF material" should have fun? With nouns? Playing Scrabble with their little cousins? Come on!
You want a girl who enjoy life and know places like you, so she will hang out and have experiences to share! How a girl behaves in a bar says more about her than a day venue, where is soo easy to look like a "normal" person.

Not quite the point.
Most guys have to live and learn though, including myself.
And there are exceptions to every rule.
If you by chance run into the girl that is on her once per month bar adventure, then no worries. If you take home and bang the girl that's there every Friday and Saturday, then girlfriend material she's not. Actually, anytime you get to third base or further with a woman the first time you meet her, then hedge your bet.

I met my wife at a club. But it was not a one-night stand, I just got her number and banged her after a couple of dates.

3 years now, very happy so far.
Pretty much all women (except nuns) go to dance clubs every now and then. If you only believe in day game for "serious" girls, then guess what - these same girls go to dance at night clubs on weekends, and other guys will game them there if you don't.

I've never actually dated a girl I've picked up at a bar and the longest I've ever fucked one was maybe 3 weeks. Bar rats aren't my thing when it comes to having a girlfriend.

There is no "best place". Your chance to have a happy relationship depends on what kind of person you are, and what kind of person she is (i.e. if there is compatibility between two of you). It does not depend on where you actually meet. I know three happy couples who are together over ten years. First met in a gent club, second met in European XXX theater, and the third met in an online video game. There are also a lot of unhappy/divorced couples who met at work, in a theater or in a church.

All the rules where it is "appropriate" or "not appropriate" to meet a potential GF are in your head. Forget about it. There are no rules. One thing, however: none of happy couples I know was actually looking to find a partner at the moment they met (and neither did we).

Here in SP, the day game is absolutely rare. If you don't know people at bars and night scene, you probably will meet them at gym, work/social circle and the like

i actually tried this but didn't work out

i joined a church group for young people that did some volunteer work and met up once a week

out of 15 people there was one ok and one hot girl, but i found them kind of strange, as in socially awkward.

are you in the US? this was in the UK and people in europe tend to be less open about their religious beliefs compared to the US, so that may be the difference

Don't knock it til your try it. if you are looking for a serious long-term gf that might lead to something then churches are a good bet (conservative women are usually more family oriented). what I meant was to go church shopping, you're bound to find something you like with time...

if you are looking for a casual gf then yeh, bars are alright
