Some time ago I got a lesson in daygame from a teacher. We passed a group of asian girls, one which was just incredibly striking, like a delicate swan. She was by far the best looking girl I had seen all day. My teacher said, did you see that tall asian girl? I said yes, of course I did. He said she had contacted him because she wanted to learn to attract more males.

Quite frankly, I couldn't figure it out. Was she just to intimidating to men? Or was she always with her gaggle of friends and so made it harder for males to approach her? Or were short asian too beta too approach her? I couldn't say, but he told me that he was increasingly getting a lot of inquiries from females, so much so that he could almost exclusively focus on training women!

People concentrate so much on looks and personality, they ignore something we all consider subconsciously when we choose a long-term mate: their voice.

This woman has a voice that's shrill, grating, and nasal. It perfectly suits her profession as a teacher, but it's just not appealing in a feminine or sexual way. On top of that, she has a way of speaking that's sort of boyish or "indie" or something, but it sure ain't appealing.

Crappy voices seem to be an affliction among American women. And they do matter. They reframe a woman's looks and prompt us to contextualize her in some manner. This goes for guys too, but that's not the topic here.

IMO he could have helped her a lot by having her watch some old Marilyn Monroe or Jacqueline Bissett movies and having her try to copy the way they spoke. Although you can't change the sound of your voice, you can modulate it and alter your manner of speaking. If she just spoke in a slightly lower register and didn't make her words so choppy, it would make a huge difference.

Speaking well, by the way, was one of the themes in "My Fair Lady," a musical in which a man tried to transform a woman. So you think they'd have picked up on that.

I agree completely. More generally, "Looks" is a bit of a misnomer for the sum of all physical/sensual traits. While men are notorious for being visually stimulated, all 5 senses are important. Most girls know this, typically, which is why they wear perfume and moisturizer and always pack gum or breath mints with cigarettes.

Men don't just want skin that looks healthy, it should also feel healthy to touch. Her scent should be pleasing. Her mouth shouldn't taste like alcohol and cigarettes (unless you are into that kind of thing...). And yes, she should have a sexy voice.
