He gets to stay on the outside pending appeal, and even if he loses he won't see a day inside the slammer because he's over 70. He will serve house arrest at his Arcore villa. The only downside is that he can't run for office again. I guess he'll have to make due with his billions and media empire.

This isn't his only legal case though. He was convicted of tax fraud earlier and recently lost a preliminary appeal.

The back story to this is that the Berlusconi witch hunt is driven by major geopolitics.

He's cool on the whole Euro project. And, he's even cooler on NATO and very buddy buddy with the other most interesting man in the world - Vladimir Putin.

The EU wants Goldman Sachs bureacrats to run Italy in order to impose austerity to serve the debt - a concept Berlusconi is very cool on.

So, the suits and prosecution are all politically motivated. The key to the sentence - is to ban him from politics forever. - remove the thorn.

However, if Berlusconi is as much an alpha as I suspect - HE WILL BE BACK.... - one way or another.

Sometimes you meet a woman you fancy.
