Sorry, I'm not going to launch into a detailed book review here as I read this quite some time ago, multiple times, but I wanted to make a recommendation on a really cool book about a player that was in the game way before this forum even existed.

The story is actually only one in a collection of four by Ann Rule, the famous crime writer. "The End of the Dream" is a true crime story about a guy who lived in an off-grid treehouse built into 21 trees somewhere in Washington and robbed banks for a living. He was a ladies man who started out growing weed, then dealing meth, and then moved on to robbing banks, which he was very good at. In his off-time, he flew around the world visiting his girlfriends and sometimes brought them back to the states to stay in his ultra-pimpish, which was actually featured in a magazine before anyone knew what he was up to.

In the end it all blows up in his face, but it's an oddly inspirational story about a very interesting guy who I think "got it." He was a criminal, he made a lot of mistakes, and he probably should have stayed away from the drugs, but who's perfect, right?

Had this book cross my mind when reading someone else's thread and thought I'd give it a share.
