I've recently returned to night game after a long stint in day game, and its a happy, slutty place to be

I train extensively and don't drink most of the year. If I'm going out I drink coffee/redbull, get hyped with music and good friends and then try keep that going through the night.

Focus: any advice, ideas or experience night gaming sober. Getting past that inhibition and keeping energy high.

I do sober gaming as my norm, for a variety of reasons:

1. Tighter game; if she's drunk and you're not, guess who wins?
2. Healthier; I lift 3 times a week, no need to increase my body fat.
3. Hate having a drink in my hand, lowers mobility and ties you to a specific venue.
4. Saves $$$


If you really want to drink, however, drink vodka straight (on the rocks), as it's plenty of alcohol and low in calories.

Damn, vodka on the rocks?? That's definitely something I've never drank.
If I'm drinking liquor straight, it'd have to be good liquor. Therefore something on the rocks is going to cost more than a mixed drink that I can just drink well liquor in...

I'm definitely not drinking well vodka on the rocks.... sounds awful.

I've tried going out sober. It's just not fun being the sober person in a bar. If I feel like saving a little money, I'll just grab a four loko and drink that shit on the way out - that's usually a good enough buzz for me and I won't really need much else for the rest of the night....

Tried sober gaming yesterday in a bar, and overall it was awful. I did only one approach. Not because I was shy, but because all the girls around were simply not attractive enough to justify spending any time talking to them. This one, of course, died immediately, because I put zero effort to continue the interaction. Even though I've got approached by girls five or six times, I busted them all, finally even with "Don't you see I am not interested in talking to you?"

Surprisingly it wasn't boring at all - I had small talk with bartenders, got known all bouncers and even played pool with some gay guys.

As a side note, found out that I'm not into Latinas either.

Roosh's great post on why your game sucks came as revelation to me. I realised some of the bad mistakes I was doing. I've been having to reinvent myself since gaming on a foreign land, and been breaking down the basics ever since.

I realise that alcohol is not my friend, but something I actually became dependent for while gaming women. And I don't find it realistic to go out 4 nights a week getting drunk. I'm starting to feel the effects of it. Not cool.

I am commited now to cutting it back, completely, at least for a while. I want real change, real game, no crutches.

Well, it sounds nice on paper, but it is not that easy when you are the only sober person on a completely drunk environment with loud music and people grinding.

I felt pathetic. Yet I still didn't drink.

I realised that I don't have many problems approaching girls sober, I just screw up big, big time -escalating- while sober.

I had this cute girl all over me, giving me tons of kino. Although she was out with friends, she practically took the initiative to ask me out tonight. She gave me kino constantly, and aside from some light hip touching... I couldn't make myself do the move, something that alcohol helped me with. Alcohol opens the doors to a beast within me that helps at those moments.

Things started running bad after a while. Guys went over her caveman style, cockblocking me, and when I was having a more "serious" talk with her (still having a hard time escalating), one of her friends just fell flat on the ground drunk, and they went outside. After some good minutes I went outside also, talked to her, and she told me that she had to leave with her friend, and asked me out again on Friday. My take is that it is still on.

Point being: something that I could have done if drunk I was far from able to do when sober. I actually also find my wits and humor are lessened when I'm sober, as I obviously am not having a good time as the others.

That was a lesson- I am commited to staying a good while without drinking, to sort this sh*t out.

I came here for some words of wisdom on gaming sober... help a brother out.

If you're going out to nightspots I don't see how you CAN'T drink.. Maybe it's a personal thing but I can't have fun at clubs/bars unless I'm drinking.. If it's a monetary thing, simple solution would be to buy a bottle of scotch, split it with 1 or 2 mates before heading out. Ends up costing you $10 each and you only end up needing to buy maybe 2 or 3 drinks the rest of the night to keep your buzz.

Sober gaming is best for day game or places that most people are actually sober i would think.. Nothing worse than being the only sober person surrounded by a bunch of drunkards.

To each their own I guess, I do agree with Roosh's post that you should muster up the confidence to be able to game sober and not just do it when drunk.

I tend to alternate a real drink with a "fake" drink, like a plain Coke.

This enables me to be pleasantly inebriated and not obviously/creepily sober, but also not shitfaced.

I was out last night and used a bit of Roosh advice, actually. Holding one's drink in front of oneself IS a barrier. I was doing this for the first 5 minutes of the conversation with a girl who was laying a little kino on me, but the minute I put that drink on the bar, she started laying a LOT more on. It was like I lifted a wall.

My first Columbiana btw (that I can recall), albeit here in DC.

I've "sober" gaming for a bit now due to money being tight. Usually I pregame with something at home, order one drink just to not be that cheap dude that comes to the bar and doesn't buy anything, then I drink soda water after that.

I've found making the first approach early helps, gets that anxiety out of your system, and if you're alone in a new place it gets you past the "im a stranger here" vibe you can't help but have. Also talking to other guys or the bartender helps too, just to get you into a social gear.

Practice gaming sober, outside the bar/club. I do a lot of day game, so I've trained myself to approach sober. It got a lot easier the more I did it, then when I wasn't drinking in a bar, gaming sober just kind of transferred over.

As for keeping the energy high, it's really your mental state. I find it easier if I'm with more high energy people. I'm naturally laid back and low energy, but I've found this isn't an issue in laid back type bars. If I'm in a club though, I'm definitely in trouble, but I don't go to clubs anymore.

Agreed 100%, outside of the foreign land part. When I started gaming I needed that buzzed-to-drunk state and lack of self consciousness to approach, but as I've gotten better it's gone from helpful to harmful. In the last couple weeks, I've had multiple approaches that started great and then went off the rail once I got too drunk to keep up decent conversation and move it to a close.

One girl in particular showed me why I need to fix this...I met her while chilling at the bar, had a great 30min talk with chemistry on both sides, then she had to tend to her drunk friend. She came back 15 min later and found me, clearly interested. Meanwhile, I had taken shots with friends, finished a vodka tonic, and joined in on a hookah. I went from my charming self to dazed out, and watched her attraction go away over the next slow ten minutes. She was still cozy with my hands on her, I should have just taken her to the dance floor...but was out of it and didn't realize my mistake till it was too late. Lesson learned.

I don't think going 100% sober is the solution, but cutting back is important. Here's what I'm trying: vodka on the rocks is a little too harsh, so I've gone with vodka waters instead. It's really easy to tell just how much vodka is in there, unlike vodka tonics which taste smooth enough that I can lose track of how much I'm actually drinking. Calorie-wise, it's no worse than straight vodka, and helps keep you hydrated. Plus, it tastes bad enough that you're not going to chug it.

Keeping one to two shot's worth of vodka gives me the boost in wit and lets me be comfortable surrounded by drunk people on all sides (any DC bar past midnight on a Friday), while I can still read girls well and figure out logistics.

I also tried doing nights of 5 miller lites--just enough to get me the faintest buzz, and no risk of losing count of how much I've actually drank--but beer makes me too lethargic. It's energy drink + a little liquor for the sweet spot.

i cant go out sober i did it before and found it impossible to even socialise.i used to think getting hammered and spending lots of money would get me places - more confidence,more approaches etc.it barely ever works

what im doing now : adopting a mindset where i try my very best to approach and only get nicely buzzed before clubbing and having 1 or 2 in the club total.not only does this save me $$,a hangover and potential embarrassment its actually helping my game because girls arnt looking at me like ive 20 heads because im hammered. i feel more confident when im just nicely buzzed.little changes = big difference.

I'm on a roll here, going out and practicing 4 or more times a week, and I am forcing myself to stay sober and experiment, but as some of you relate, it is not easy.

There seems to be a more balanced "middle path" which is probably the best overall goal, where you balance your liquor intake, just enough you can socialize with people.

Even though I love drunk girls, it can be hard to intract with them when you are brick wall sober, as you two clearly feel out of sync, as socialble and outgoing you might be. That's how I've been feeling, at least.

Still, I am experimenting gaming without a drop of alcohol in my blood. My sleep and the following day have been much better, if nothing else.

If you're worried about calories and don't want to drink straight liquor, stick to well drinks with diet soda. The alcohol has calories of course but 10 rum and diets is going to do a lot less damage than 10 beers or 10 rum and cokes. Pregame heavily to save money.

I find I get the best results when I've had between 3 and 8 drinks. Enough to be slightly buzzed and enjoying the night, and help bring out the inner asshole, but well before I start getting sloppy.

I get a lot of random makeouts and a few one-night stands when I'm completely obliterated but the girls I've pulled this way haven't been as hot as when I'm on point and serious about getting laid.

It's too bad it has to work this way because I'm a man who enjoys a night of heavy boozing. I'd prefer not to have to choose but what are you gonna do.

I think it's far more relevant whether she drinks or not than whether you drink or not. I took a girl to a bar yesterday and she was adamant that she wasn't gonna drink alcohol and that she wanted to go back home before the bridges go up(St.Petersburg). By spitting game and showing her a great time with cool people I made her stay many hours longer than she had planned to but still she kept coming up with the excuse that she needed to work next day bla bla bla.

At one point there was a shot of vodka and she went from saying she's not gonna drink it, to drinking half of it. Got her back to the hostel after but because she wasn't drunk it was hard to escalate so no bang there.

Bottom line is that I as someone who dislikes drinking have embraced drinking or at least faking to drink. Girls use drinks as an alibi and as Roosh says it doesn't make sense to reinvent the wheel.

I can be completely sober and not have approach anxiety because of my history of not drinking, yet if the lizard hasn't been drinking, it's much harder to close. Not drinking also makes you look like the odd one out so it makes sense to pretend you're drinking or just to drink what other people buy you.

This is exactly what I'm experiencing. I'm hitting the top clubs in LA right now stone sober to try and up my game. I have less pulls this year than previous years under the influence... but I think once you master sober game you can truly be a slaymaster god.

I agree with the first part though. It does seem more difficult to connect to completely drunk chicks while stone sober. There seems to be that gap you have to bridge and a bit of a natural disconnect due to the different substances in the body. Still, I believe it can be done and I'm determined to find a way. Nothing worth having in life ever seems to come easy. If they are already drunk, we just have to train our sober minds to be bolder as drunk women and all women respond favorably to boldness.

I don't drink, this can work well in a bar, in clubs not so much - the discrepancy between sober and highly inebriated people too much to be on the same wavelength most of the time. Having said that, either you fuck or you don't. My mate pulls from clubs sober on the regular. Admittedly, he isn't too picky but if you have focus and intent, you'll more likely to take calibrated action than when you're sloppily drunk - takes discipline though.

I can't game sober, tried many times and struggled to get in a good mood.

Drinking vodka is a good shout. I drink vodka with soda water, I try to limit it to 4 doubles, but will go to 6 doubles over the course of a full night out and this keeps me pretty much sober and able to think clearly, but is enough to get me on a nice vibe. Before I switched to vodka soda I drank lager and had no self control, ten pints or more was normal, or 10 plus double brandy cokes. For some reason switching drinks has allowed me to finally get some self control with my drinking and it's helping my results.
