RE: Malaga, Spain
True that, during San Fermin the prices for accommodation skyrocket. Last summer, just before San Fermin, I bought an apartment in Pamplona and I put it up for rent on a very popular website (You all know which one) for 200 or 300 euros a day depending on which day. The place I bought is nothing especial but the location is good. Within 2 days I had it booked for all the 8 days of SF. Not only is very expensive but sometimes very difficult to find somewhere to stay. Many people try to stay with locals, with friends they have there, with relatives, people just party as long as they physically can and then they leave, many others they stay in campings 30 or 40 kms away, others in hotels or hostels as far as San Sebastian etc.
There's no border between Spain and France (same as all/most EU countries) so it's just a short drive to southwest France, Biarritz is the most knows place there, there are some other nice spots like Hendaye, Bayonne these are small towns, good for the beach and surfing, not good for picking up though.
Usually when I go back to Spain in summer I cross the border to France to go to a supermarket and buy cheese and wine. I find French girls classier than Spanish in general, their style it's just better.

RE: Malaga, Spain
Sorry for derailing the thread LOL this is about Malaga, anyone who goes there will have a great time: beach, nice and affordable food, plenty of chicks, great nightlife (Malaga city just okay), great wine, awesome weather. You can't go wrong in Malaga. It's one of the most touristy areas in Spain, therefore the government invests big there, at least for Spanish standards. I remember a few years ago I went to Nikki beach, the bar on the beach, man, it was during the day and the talent of chicks hmmmm.
