KBell, I never liked another post as much as this.. as a big Fleetwood Mac fan, and a huge Christine McVie fan, I agree 100%. McVie was the talent of that band, period... "Little Lies" "You make lovin fun" "Hold Me" "Everywhere" etc. McVie songs are their best songs.

Ever since going to Cambodia in 2001 and buying some random cassettes in the market I have had a real liking for this singer Touch Sunnix and her voice. Have not got a clue what the songs are about but I like to put them on if I just want to chill out and read a book or something. She was shot in an attempted assassination that was probably state sponsored and ended up pretty much a vegetable living in America.

Notice the difference in Khmer culture and their music videos from our ones in the west. Much more conservative. Pretty girls on show too:

Anyone here heard of Alela Diane? She's got a beautiful voice and has some great lyrical content. Very feminine but not gushing or vapid in the least. Every song is a story, as folk good music almost always is.

As most of us are travelers, I think the song below, "To Be Still," is one that a lot of us can identify with. Seeing as we're men, not for the feelings she's expressing in her lyrics, but more for the want of a woman who would conceptualize such feelings and have the loyalty to be okay with them. There's something to be said about that.

I was watching "The Last Waltz" again this evening and I wondered if there was a thread on female singers and of course there was!

Like IKE said earlier in the thread, Joni Mitchell is something special.

What's great about this song are her poetic, lyrics expressing her love for the "Coyote" (aka Player) that often breaks her out of the Eskimo prison she makes for herself. Timeless
