His help was crucial and his 911 call entertaining. (The 911 operators in Cleveland do not seem to be very competent). He also exceeded people's expectations of what a guy who looks like him would do.

'Heroic' is overstating the case a bit, but it's a convenient term that more or less captures the spirit of why people admire what this guy did.

problem is "hero" is now often used for any situation everywhere. I do think it applies to Ramsey, but the problem is the media are hungry for stereotyping heros vs losers...

A police report said Knight had suffered at least five miscarriages that Castro is accused of having intentionally caused by starving her for weeks and beating her in the abdomen.

I wonder how easy/hard it is for someone who's been missing for such a long time only to reappear. Family and friends think your dead and move on with their lives. Mentally once your free how do you go about living a normal life ever again. Odds of finding work is almost impossible. Odds of going back into a relationship is almost non existent.

Wasnt there a story a year or two ago about a women living underneath the guys backyard for several years. I wonder how shes doing as a follow up.

Of course the guys a hero. Heros save lives, he saved those girls.

And lets be honest, how many regular middle class people would make the call in 30 seconds to run over and then kick a door down when for all he knows, someone with a knife or gun (likely in that neighborhood) is behind it.

Cops hate going to domestic violence calls because they are dangerous. What's the criteria for heroism? Now the guy has to get stabbed someplace? It sounds like he thought he was on his way to intervene between a guy he knows and some girl he didn't without a second thought. That's a hero in my book.

I hope he gets that reward money and then some. I hope he doesn't play up the good guy thing too much and I hope his past indiscretions don't hurt him. The guy seems good hearted and cool as hell to me.
