While the sports bag option seems weird, I would say there is some truth to the musical instrument case.

Last time I carried my trumpet case onto the subway, this cute Bengali girl opened me and tried fairly hard to number close me. The case basically functioned as a prop for her to use an "elderly opener." She played violin or something, and we talked about bands, music, etc.

I wonder if having the guitar case was working in a similar way. It would allow the girl to contribute to the conversation easily by asking about the guitar. Whether or not he was a musician might not have been as useful as simply making it easier for the girl to invest in the convo.

So the sucky part of all this is that he doesn't even need to show off any of his musical ability. He just needs to display the appearance of being a musician. Fucking unbelievable women are.

Try just saying you're a musician.

I am a musican, and play in a band. Chicks always love hearing about it, but honestly never really care to come to shows. They honestly have no idea whether I'm bullshitting or not, but they clearly like it.

I got a buddy who carries around an AR-15 in a geetar case, it's been a helluva conversation starter when he brings it out during wednesday night bonfire night.

Yeah. Back in my Black Metal days my friends and I would have all sorts of chicks open us if we did or carried something that implied we were musicians... Despite all of us having long hair, deathly, corpse-like physique, wearing all black with a bunch of pentagrams and demonic imagery on our clothing.
