I was in just taking a walk (in China) today and I came across this ad on the street and felt compelled to snap a pic. It's a weight loss program ad and the
message roughly translates to 'being fat makes 100 garments look bad' while 'being skinny makes anything look good'. These advertisements seem ubiqitous in China and are a good part of a healthy (read: skinny) culture. Thank god I'm here.

Haha, not sure if they just don't come out or just that there aren't many. You simply don't see too many fatties here. It's usually a pretty jarring sight when you see an overweight girl here let alone an obese one. It gets to the point where you sort of have to raise your standards above where they used to be back home.

They say a picture tells a thousand words, and if I saw that image in North America, I would assume it was a fat acceptance ad. Look at the woman on the right - she's strong, independent, vivacious, curvy, lives her life and doesn't care what anyone thinks...!

nice to see China's got their shit together.
