Some of my friends in college owned a goat because they thought it would be interesting at parties. They ended up getting sick of it after a month and drove it out to a rancher and pushed it over the fence.

Goats don't have any practical purpose, they aren't domesticated animals(not that zebras are) and they eat a LOT. they eat things that aren't food, like clothing.

If you just let them roam around in your back yard, they will eat any plants and grass and anything else you may like that is sitting around. Don't get a goat.

I don't think they ever tried milking the goat for goats milk, but seeing as how goats can be very much out of control, and don't really like being touched, I can't imagine milking a goat would be that much fun.

Depends on how the goat was raised and less importantly the race, females are less aggressive than the bucks (which you can't milk anyway).
If you have a medium to large field I'd say one goat is manageable as it is less likely to completely erode the ecosystem its in.
I worked a while on a goat farm and milking the goats was the best part of the job (looking after the fuckers without a Shepard dog in the middle of a goddamn Valley was another story). I used to bring my coffee mug so I'd have sone nice warm goat milk straight from the source!

I think that if I became a billionaire or close I would buy some pretty strange animals, though nothing that you cannot have some sort of connection with.

The list would go like:

House:

Dogs
Cats
Fish - aquarium
Squid - aquarium
Mini-pig
Armadillo



Donkey - purely for visual pleasure - like those buggers

Horses for riding
Goats for milk
Chicken for eggs
Cows for milk and meat when they are old

I would not keep any farm animals for meat, because I love animals too much and if you are that rich, then you can have hunting grounds and eat even more healthy game. Most wild animals have a free and simple life until a quick death - much better than 98% of farm animals out there.

But you can bond with close to anyone of those creatures except the fish.

Owning anything too wild or something that would trample or eat you in a heartbeat is frankly a bit on the retarded side. All those buggers owning lions, tigers or zebras are just having a private zoo which gives you close to the same experience as visiting a good one yourself.

My family had a goat for a period of time when I was growing up. Unless you have a large property to keep them a bit far away I would not recommend them.

Why?

They bleat constantly, for absolutely no reason. It gets really annoying, really quickly. Then you realize the bleating will never end as long as it's there. If you can, keep them far enough away for it to be a gentle background noise. Perhaps others have a different experience but that's what I noticed.

Why do zebras have stripes?

I mean, black & white stripes against the african savanna is a dumb camouflage, from the human point of view. But the zebras aren't trying to hide from us. They are hiding from their predators - big cats - lions, leopards etc.

The zebra camouflage works for the zebra because the lion cannot distinguish the individual zebra from the herd. As noted in Petersons lecture, if you tag or paint a zebra, the lions will kill that animal first.

Women's herd mentality strategy is akin to the zebra's herd camouflage. This is why their fucking herd mentality exists & drives us up the wall & most of consumer culture, #metoo-like activism & feminism in general.
