Comparto apto scams?
Have any of you used http://www.compartoapto.com for longer stays in Colombia? I got a message on it advertising an appartment specifically for extranjeros o estudiantes.

I wonder if this might be a scam, trying to get some gringo who doesn't know what's up to drop some huge deposit and then fuck him out of it. Is it common for people renting rooms to contact you?

I didn't say in my profile that I'm not Colombian, just that I'll be arriving to Bogotá soon. My Spanish is pretty good, though I'm sure I could've made some mistakes that might give me away...

Yes very common. I wouldn't suspect a scam unless they demand you wire them money before having a chance to see the place.
