Wifi Travel Solution: TripButler
Anyone tried this?

Seems like it would be smooth for a 2 week trip or so.

Here is what it does:

Go online abroad at local costs.
Rent the mobile WiFi hotspot for your next trip abroad.
Connect up to five devices at once via WiFi
Online anytime and anywhere, without roaming costs
Use the internet to a fixed price - no surprise bills

Thoughts?

That seems sweet. They need to expand past only Europe though.

Good find.

Its a bit of a joke that within the EU some providers charge roaming. And with trains charging €15 to use wifi these guys come out way ahead. Having a pocket of SIMs is a hassle.

Seems like its around €50 per gig. Plus rental. Pretty decent.

NO PAGE LOADING FROM YOUR LINKS FOR Trip Butler? No TripButler.com? Apparently TB went out of business earlier this month!

This headnote - dated April 4th, 2013, to a quite favorable review from late last December - indicates that a new company is expected to pick up the TB business.

No indication of when and through who or where, however. For trip planning, this is very unfortunate.

RE: Wifi Travel Solution: TripButler
I did find a FAQ on google's webcache. These details DO make one salivate/mourn the loss. Service for service - is it too much to ask for?

"With the TripButler Voice App, you can call anywhere in the world for just € 0.19 ($ 0.266) per minute ‐ even to mobile numbers!

"Or you can use some other Voice-over-IP software, but this could be more expensive.

"Do I have to worry about international data-roaming?
No! With TripButler you are always online at local cost.

"If you have used all available tranfer volume, you buy further MBs for € 0.05 ($ 0.067) per MB. Futher MBs need to be actively bought by you - there are no hidden costs. You can pay with PayPal or Credit Card."

RE: Wifi Travel Solution: TripButler
I did some more searching ad found a TripBlutler blog (really, just a company PR page that seems to have outlived deletion).

HERE is a contact with mail and email addresses, phone numbers in Linz, Austria and Cali.
http://www.no-more-roaming-with-tripbutl...ontact-us/

"Press and News"
http://www.no-more-roaming-with-tripbutl...-and-news/

Checking out the buttons, THERE IS GOOD NEWS:
"Keepgo" is the new home for TripButler rental!

RE: Wifi Travel Solution: TripButler
Keepgo offers sim card rentals for a single country, Europe, Asia, or world-wide coverage (or even the US). You can even rent an iPhone.
http://www.keepgo.com/products/

"contact our customer support at [email protected] or 24/7 Toll free: 1-800-355-1118."

SEARCHING "keepgo.com" and "Review," I get company links like the new FAQ page
http://www.keepgo.com/faq/

THIS search seems the most helpful way to make your selection I can see, thus far.

Their rental products range from iPhones, pre-paid sim cards, iPads, and MiFi - BUT only for the US...? UGH!

WHERE'S TripButler? Coming soon??? Or is "Global MiFi device"
http://www.keepgo.com/Global_MiFi/
simply TripButler rebranded and 'improved?'

Their "Articles" page has oodles of comprehensive advice on staying connected.

RE: Wifi Travel Solution: TripButler
MY impressions - keepgo is BEST for ease of use, not for cost savings.

I maybe wrong, but I don't see that the great bottom-line cost savings of TripButler are retained through Keepgo.

http://www.keepgo.com/benefits/
(But I yield to those with more technical know-how and experience.)

Good work Orson.

Yeah, I actually saw http://www.keepgo.com last night and was going to post it here.

Maybe one of our tech experts on here can let us know if it is worth it.
