Don't mistake this as anything representing a cross-section of American women or even older American women.

This is the perverse New York demi monde: performance artists, self-styled "sexologists" (get a PhD in human sexuality and people have to call you "doctor"), and a new age "goddesses." They put together an online show to promote themselves and further their "brands."

They trade in being outrageous. One is named "Ducky Dolittle" and has been doing performance art since the early 1990s (Google her -- very weird). The one that looks like Steven Tyler is "Reverend Jen" who writes about her sexcapades in books. These women are one small step above out-and-out prostitutes since they basically make their living in sex-related fields.

Others of their ilk include former Village Voice columnists Tristan Taormino and Rachel Kramer Bussel, both of whom apparently aged out of doing this sort of thing. (Actually in Bussel's case it was more like "weighed out.")

Anyway, although the presentation has them making like ordinary women discussing important matters, this is product pushing -- and they're the product.

Days of Broken Arrows is right; these freaks are a weird subculture and don't represent anybody but themselves. For another example, check out Susan Crain Bakos.



She's this sixtysomething "sex columnist" who used to have this wretched blog where she'd talk about vibrators and having sex with younger guys. Wrote a book called the Sex Bible. She got famous a while back when she wrote this hamsterriffic article on why she "prefers" black men, as if someone who's old enough to be a grandmother is capable of having "preferences" to begin with. I think it was Roissy/Heartiste who shredded her for that.

Bakos deleted her blog a while back after it was revealed that she was "dining and ditching"; inviting young women out to lunch to ostensibly network with them, then bailing and leaving them to pick up the check. She then wrote a column for Salon bragging about it, only to have to pull it down when several of the girls she scammed shot back. Not cool, Granny.
