Hey, I've recently gotten into game. However I've been struggling a bit and I came to the realization I do have some self-limiting beliefs etc. I was wondering, does anyone know of any good resources on inner game. I'm trying to get over the self-limiting beliefs (e.g. I'm too short) I have and anything that can help me understand my own psychology or why I might belief certain things etc would be great.

david deangelo's not bad on getting your self image in place and the 'you're the prize' mentality
he got me back on the ladder so to speak, but as you gain more confidence, i'd go roosh and CH, and some rational male as well

Look up a guy named Elliott Hulse on youtube he is amazing and has some very insightful philosophies.

I would HIGHLY recommend meditation. It really puts an individual at ease, stops them from being so neurotic and allows them to relinquish the stress in their lives. Another guy who has really helped improve my inner game is a spiritual leader named Osho.

Inner game is the shit brah !

I would recommend Tyler Durden from Real Social Dynamics ! Check out his videos on youtube.

I would not recommend it however if your are a newbie or a guy under 21. You need to have a certain level of game understanding and maturity first.

Otherwise it might fuck you up bad.

Blueprint is great but it's only for people who got fundamentals down and experience under their belt. It's never ending seminar about inner confidence. Imagine listening to a top notch race car engineer giving lecture about how some subtle tuning tweaks influence your racing times by miliseconds. It's useless unless you're already good driver.

The book version I posted is less intense.

So why do Tyler and RSD get so much hate in the manosphere? What I read in the link you posted was really clear and informative. If anything, Tyler should be getting way more props for what he does.

On a somewhat related note, should a newbie focus on developing inner game before actually gaming, or are inner game and confidence cultivated through the actual act of gaming? I'm getting some conflicting info on this.

That book was great in 2006 ii still is but now it's more like "yeah of course" cause the content is already obvious. As for RSD, Tyler made it easy to hate haha.. advanced/esoteric content, total ignorance, overall irreverence, polarizing public image. As for manosphere, who cares. It doesn't matter what is said but who is saying it. Unless they try the shit they judge it's irrelevant what they think.

For a new guy I'd suggest to get as many reference experiences as you can in the shortest amount of time. Then as you get some victories here and there focus on what you did right then and also take lessons from your fuck ups. You'll learn quickly that rejection is no big deal so you'll get inner game handled and get more relaxed, cause it's like "whatever i'm student of the game i'm learning", your big pimp self image won't limit you. And by getting mixed results you'll also learn outer game like opening leading closing etc. And in the meantime you can ask people on the forums about the problems you experienced to decode them [after you encountered them, not before]. So it's always a balance between attitude and skills.

Few reasons I can think of why RSD (and Tyler) gets hate in the manosphere:

- It's a pickup company, so it is automatically categorized with MM, Speed Seduction and other companies that made PUA look weird with their oldschool methodologies. Furthermore, just the fact that it's a pickup company raises red flags. "PUA == weeeeird" I guarantee that no one associated with RSD wants to have anything to do with the word "PUA". Today, RSD is about lifestyle development and natural game; have your shit together in life and your outer game will fix itself through reference experiences.

- I haven't read The Game (soon a 10-year-old book), but apparently Tyler was a bit fucked up back in the day. You can see how much the guy has evolved if you compare Blueprint (2006) to his latest videos.

- The RSD paradigm of gathering massive amount of reference experiences to get good at game goes against what manosphere (Roosh, Heartiste, et al.) teaches. Roughly speaking, manosphere guys have the idea of being the aloof alpha dude posting up at the bar with a martini, and talking to maybe a few that night (sniper mode). There's also the misconception that RSD is about being a dancing monkey approach machine who gets blown out by tens of girls per night. Yeah, admittedly there are socially uncalibrated newbies who learn about "beast mode" and contribute to the image. The other side of the coin is that

I can vouch for Psycho Cybernetics. Fantastic book if you need to correct certain parts of your self image.

Power of Now (although I couldn't finish it) has some insightful concepts, specifically on being in the present moment. The later half of the book got into some spiritual stuff and I couldn't get through it.

The Way of the Superior Man is great to get some core masculine concepts down.

With any self-help/inner game book, take it with a grain of salt. Take whatever you can internalize, and then move on.

Inner game is a funny thing.

See, when you first become interested in this, the things that you apply to yourself are going to feel contrived/false or whatnot. You may not feel congruent with what you're learning and that's fine. But one thing to keep in mind is this:

You have to keep planting those seeds in your mind. Seeds of positivity and borderline irrational self confidence.
If you're struggling with height and appearance issues you have to develop your personality more.

I think the best way to do it is to keep telling yourself over and over what it is that you desire and want to be instead of what you're not.

You know, you could, and all of us could, sit around thinking about all the things we haven't become or the things we aren't or how far we are from reaching success and all, but that eventually burns those pathways into your brain, making your mind more accustomed to thinking in negative patterns.

So what you've got to do is continue to plant seeds of positivity and confidence into your mind. It's going to be tough, but the more and more you do it, along with experience (approaching or just talking to people in general) you will become more fluent with your expression. It will feel contrived at first and you will feel as though you're bullshitting yourself, but you are the one to decide who and what you want to be. Just keep chuggin' along and you will become more comfortable with the changes.

This will bring results faster then trying to fix your inner game.

Your inner game will often fix itself if you take the necessary outer action.

Inner game is often just a reflection of outer experience.

This is like the cognitive therapy approach to game.

Change the inside by changing the outside:

Dress better, get in better shape, force yourself to approach, don't listen to your feelings. This is the best way I believe. Set your goals and just do it. And besides, if you don't have options with women, your old ways aren't working so you can't trust your "inner-game."

I have a thesis: You can fuck beautiful women even though your "inner game" sucks.

Actually, I might even say that it is good to have self doubts and insecurities sometimes, to help push you forward.

When i fucked a "9" for the first time(Of course, that is subjective, but she is thin, sexy dressed, feminine, wears high heels, blonde hair, and gets massive attention) I had a beer belly, and had no experience with girls of her caliber. I was thinking to myself: Oh my god, i can't believe I am doing this. When i had fucked her, I was so proud of myself, and i couldn't believe what had just happened. I was nervous as hell all the way from meeting her to banging her. But i ACTED cool, calm and collected. The human brain have the capability to deceive, and hide one's emotions. Of course i wanted to bang her, that's just the natural thing for me to want.
But i would say that it had less to do with the inner game, than all the experience i had accumulated from approaching, dating, and fucking women. The EXPERIENCE that I had collected, and the knowledge gave me "That confidence to know what to do". Still I couldn't believe it.

You will get the "inner game", the confidence and a better sense of self worth along the way. More practice, and more experience will give you a wider perspective.

I still have bad inner game in some situations, even though i have proven to myself that i can get top shelf women. When i meet a girl, that is in a higher social class, or that hang out with rich and famous people, I still need to push against that inner voice that says I am not rich enough, famous enough, tall enough or cool enough.
But the more I push, and the more beautiful girls I bang, the more I get that sense of self worth. Even if i bang a bad quality girl, i will get more confident of the process of picking up girls. Also, the extra notch, will take me closer to the next milestone in notches.

When that is said, I really get inspired by books and history to gain perspective. But The books won't help if you don't make the book information come alive somehow. You have to apply the information to the books to real life. You have to practice what the book teaches. If you read about a person that is fearless, it doesn't matter if you don't try and do what the historical figure did.

2 books about fearlessness that I would Recommend:

-Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave.
Chronicles the life of the slave Frederick Douglass. He grew up in a system, designed to break people down, designed to destroy their self worth. How could someone so enslaved, with fear all around him, be so bold and free spirited?

-The 50th law. -Robert Greene.
It is about 50 cent, and all kinds of historical fearless types from Napoleon Bonaparte, John F. Kennedy, George Washington to Jane Goodall. This book explores the topic of fear, and how to attack fear. It is inspiring, but as I said before, you have to make it become alive, and apply the strategies to your life.
