Funny story in NY Post today about a 21 year old man in the 1800s who decided to CREATE his perfect wife by adopting a 12 year old orphan girl and teaching her how to be a wife.

When he proposed to her when she turned 18 she rejected him. Ouch.

Who's gonna be the first to adopt an orphan here to teacher her what it means to be a good wife?

Ha funny story. I'd say this is not nearly as bad as what Woody Allen did. Hell, if this had worked out for Mr. Day, I don't think it would be all that terrible anyway. He didn't meet her until she was 12, an age at which girls in some tribal societies get married. He never gave her the status of being his child, only his apprentice maid. It's easier to lambaste what he did because he failed so spectacularly. Although the pistol baring and ice water wading was pretty strange.

What I thought was ironic, it's mentioned in the last part of the article, is that after this failed "experiment" the girl suffered a bad reputation, but then the man went on to become a successful writer. It's weird that the girl, who was unwittingly incorporated in it, suffered a damaged reputation.

I wonder if he got it in? Although age of first menarche was much higher back then, 12 is still edging on "if there's grass on the field, play ball" territory.

the article says that both he and his friend chose the orphan. i can just imagine the conversation between the two of them.

Thomas Day: "Hark dear friend! After another unglorious night of sarging at the english pub, i cannot stand this rejection from the females anymore!"

Friend: "Ye Thomas!"

Thomas:"The females do not know that I am the best man for them! They do not respond to Mystery-style negs from me as they do when other, less-capable men deliver the same lines!

Friend: "Ye Thomas!"

Tomas: "They drink too much and do too many unfeminine activities. At this rate, one day soon I suspect wives will not cook their husbands meals anymore!"

With social conventions what they were back then, and no no-fault divorce, he could have just married the 12 year old orphan girl, and then trained her after.

Same thing happened to Johnny Appleseed. He financially supported a gilr then asked her to marry him. She said no and he went celibate.


Also, read up on Wendi Deng/Murdoch.

Allegedly she was an alleged foreign exchange student who went to a host family where the father allegedly wanted a tall hot 19 year old Asian babe (allegedly). This guy was married but got away with it (allegedly).

This is just a prime example of beta male intelligence in action. Like that guy with the excel file, just a very logical way to approach relationships, but the complete opposite of game.
