Bringing Babies to the Classroom to Teach Empathy, Prevent Bullying
I hate bullies as much as everyone else but I don't know about this. Bullying can be good for someone because that person is eventually gonna get tired of it and start standing up for themselves. People don't seem to understand that there's nothing you can do to prevent kids from being assholes. Lol at this program starting in Toronto and spreading to those liberal states tard

Quote:The 20 or so kindergartners are already well acquainted with Claire, a seven-month-old infant who visits the classroom regularly as part of the social and emotional learning program Roots of Empathy.

Roots of Empathy, first started in 1996 in Toronto and introduced into U.S. schools in 2007, aims to build more peaceful and caring societies by increasing the level of empathy in children. In the last six years, the program has spread to California, New York and other parts of Washington.

Some teachers at the school, including Pearson, say they were initially nervous about the safety of the babies in classrooms full of students.

"I thought they were crazy," Pearson said, "but it was just amazing to see the kids respond and light up."

Roots of Empathy instructor Marilyn Enloe visits the classroom 27 times over the course of the year and for nine of those visits baby Claire will be there as well with her mother, Jenny Fitzpatrick. It's Enloe's job to help students observe the baby's development and to label Claire's feelings.

The class then reflects on why Claire is either happy or sad and discusses how the children often have similar feelings.

At the heart of the program, which targets K-8 students, is a mission to decrease aggressive behavior patterns at an early age and therefore curb bullying. Roughly 160,000 children miss school every day "due to fear of an attack or intimidation by other students," according to the National Education Association.

ive never really like human babies. i've always liked puppies and even kittens though.

its not healthy but i've always treated animals much better than humans, which I think distances a lot of humans from me. it's been hard for me to try to treat humans as empathetic ally as I treat dogs/cats but when I summon it within myself to do that I find they generally react quite well.

I generally hate babies too. If they want to cut down on bullying in the classroom, puppies would be better in my opinion.

I think there's a difference between playful bullying or razzing, and bully's actually beating people up etc.

The first one is healthy, but it's not cool to be pushed around when you are little kid by guys who are older or bigger than you. That shit isn't a fair fight.

I know- "life's not fair", but it can be really traumatic to get beaten up all the time and not have any way to really stand up for yourself or fight back.

RE: Bringing Babies to the Classroom to Teach Empathy, Prevent Bullying
I got bullied in school. I think it teached me a lesson.

People will mess with you as long as you let them.

A guy in school used to punch me and make fun of me. He did it everyday, until one day I stood up and fucked his face up. He never ever did it again.

I don't see what the big deal about bullying is. If a kid can't deal with bullying in school , how is he going to deal with the hardships of life?

Those are way harsher.

Yep. They're not doing these kids any favors.

Essentially, they're promoting the beta-ization of men. The problem is that these guys will never develop the backbone or fortitude to deal not just with other men but with women.

So, boys today will be sheltered from bullying. They'll never be called a fag, because gays are now a protected class, they'll never be laughed at because of their funny name, but we got to respect diversity, they'll never be the butt of jokes if they're fat, because beauty comes in all sizes, etc.

The result is that these guys will never get laid. Only natural alphas win out, which is always the case with policies promoted by women.

I am sure feminists are just using state schools as indoctrination centres these days. In the UK they want to have classes to teach boys to treat their girlfriends nice. We even have adverts on tv showing men being mean to their girlfriends as abuse.

I say treat 'em mean... make them wet. ha

Guys need to learn how to be tough, but a lot of bullies are much bigger than the kids they are bullying. There are other ways to build toughness into guys.

If bullies want to fight, they can join the wrestling team or whatever. Bullies are picking on smaller kids because they have an insecurity of their own. Maybe they com from a fucked up family situation. There is no simple answer to the question. Maybe if society wasn't so messed up in general, there wouldn't be kids that feel like they need to feel powerful by beating up smaller kids.

The bully is trying to transfer or unload his trauma on to another object. He see's himself in the kid he's beating, and he hates himself. It's very dark.

There's a difference between horsing around and what I'm going to call "real" bullying. I don't mind if kids rough each other up for fun a little, but why do we need to allow kids to beat each other up when there isn't consent on both sides? Is it OK for guys to go around raping girls or other guys? What great life lesson are they going to get?

Bingo, state schools are starting to be breeding grounds as they act as indoctrination centres, I've posted this before, most teachers are females that do not understand that boys have to be boys. It happened to me in elementary school and it resulted in me being a timid beta male in the recent years of HS. All the female teachers I had were nosy and focused too much attention on trivial matters, such as trying to send me to a behavioral specialist for autism or adhd telling my parents I need medication or telling me to go to the doctor because I might have had Leukemia after one bleeding nose.

Look at all the teachers who send their students out with them to go protest things, using their influence as a teacher negatively. The other day I saw a teacher with her 3rd grade class out protesting against the Enbridge Pipeline with signs made by the children.

I really don't care for babies that I'm not even related to.

The only small children I really give a shit about at all are my nephews. They have a father, yeah, but I'll be teaching them about things relevant to them once they get into highschool, like building muscle, getting with highschool chicks, and which college to pick. I still wish I had someone to tell me about stuff like that, my dad was too old to give a shit.

Is bullying the same today as it was back then? Back in the day you hit a bully in the face and he stops. Today? Maybe he gets a gang of his friends together and stomps you within an inch of your life...or kills you. I guess it depends on who the bully is.

That would be nice in la la world but bullying will never go away no matter what people try to do. It's always been around and always will be. You can't just turn someone nice and make them want to hug everyone like the people in the video think. I would send them to alternative schools if it was up to me. What does rape have to do with anything??

I wonder if these programs are being set up by women because I don't see any guys in the video. Guys that get bullied either get tired of it and fight back or become asshole cops.
