I've been making plans to get out of Scotland for a while now. The fact that the weather is so constantly dismal, everything is so expensive and there is no jobs has played a big part in my decision but looking at the candidates for Miss Scotland 2013 has really given me the extra motivation to leave and the confidence to know I am doing the right thing.

This girl is in the running for the crown...one of the best that Scotland has to offer. Also, I challenge you to look at her first and try guess her age before you read the article...bet you guess wrong!

Spent a week with my mate in his home town of Carluke never seen so many depressing looking women, the only explanation for the poor talent on show was the weather and the fact the local chippy sold deep fried pizza.

Ps In fairness Miss Scotland 2012 was an absolute cracker but she definitely goes against the mould of most Scottish girls.

Strange girls seem to enter beauty contests. It seems to be the girl who might be the 3rd or 4th hottest girl in any bar. And as a result has an insecurity which drives them to seek more validation. There are some exceptions - but usually I find the standard pretty poor in alot in beauty contests compared to what you will find in a city on a Friday night.

Jesus. When even the Miss contenders don't even worry to be in shape... I guess Scottish women have very bad nutrition and constant binge drinking adding to it very poor grooming. Because genetic features don't seem so much bad.

Car-L has the lowest rape stat in the whole of Scotland.... for the exact reason you outlined. It was a mining town back in the day, men with eyes full of soot weren't so good at mate selection.

Scottish women on the whole are pretty atrocious to look at. The only decent girls are confined to the aristocracy, and they all head to Oxbridge or further afield once they are 18.

Do guys living in Scotland moan about the lack of talent alot?

I have spent alot of time in Scotland - and it is so depressing in the small towns and villages. There are pretty girls in Ednburgh - but they tend to be English or (mostly) European. Even the pretty Scottish girls tend to have some European in their background.

I have never being so depressed as when I have ventured into the depths of Scotland. It is a lovely place - but I feel so sad for the guys having to deal with the lack of hot girls. After a few days your brain starts to go numb. It is the oddest feeling.

[I have Scottish forebears myself - so no ill feeling intended]

I spent two weeks in Scotland last June photographing landscapes ~ drove all the way to the Isle of Skye (750 miles+) and through the principal "scenic areas" looking for shots. I concur, that as a whole, the talent pool was lacking...but I did see/meet some ffffffffiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnneeee-ass Scottish ladies, particularly in Glasgow!
