Not particularly for gaming purposes, but to meet new people in a city (NYC) Its basically a site where people with similar interests join a group and hangout and do stuff.

Any experiences?

I use it. I think its great. I go to a lot of lectures, happy hours, mixers....I'm actually 2/2 from meetup singles mixers. Just have a bunch of group subscriptions and if anything you see is interesting check it out....i like to be busy and this helps me stay away from a night at home watching TV.

I went to a few language/singles meetups and wanted to use it for game but the caliber of girls was pretty low, the vast majority were unbangable. For meeting people who have similar interests it's probably pretty good.
