Basically, wife gets fat, learns about "fat acceptance" on the Internet. Sends articles to husband thinking he feels the same way, he returns with articles about weigh lifting (genius frame control BTW). She "accepts herself the way she is" and "doesn't feel she needs to lose the weight", and is upset at her husband because he doesn't feel the same way.

Eventually they separate, but the poor beta doesn't think he can do any better and gets back with her. The most recent picture is beyond disgusting, it's actually disturbing.

And why does he prefer being with a land whale to being alone? And he married her when she was 160, 5'2". She is now 200. So he was willing to marry a fat slob; he just hand second thoughts when she reached freak show proportions. God forbid she should be expected to make any effort to remain vaguely humanoid in appearance.

Not sure what's more depressing: the article or the comments that are mostly supportive of her. Seriously, women read these articles and I am sure subconsciously they think it's okay to get fat.

The "Healthy At Every Size" thing makes me sad. I did a quick search to see what 5ft2 and 160lbs looks like and found one where a girl compared pics of herself at 190lbs and 160lbs and the top comment was, "Weight loss is a FUTILE goal. The success rate is less than 1% LONG TERM."

What happened to the people in Pixar's Wally is depressingly accurate.

I can't feel sorry for the guy. He married his high school sweetheart who was already overweight. He couldn't prevent her from gaining more weight so he's not able to stand up to her and he's a too much of a pussy to break up with her and find a better match.

He got what he deserved and should be happy with it.

PS - I didn't read the article word for word since it was awfully painful to read so I don't know if they have kids. I can't really judge a man who want to stay around and raise his own kids. Society is best of with people being raised by two parents. Not two parents who hate each others guts and ruin the child this way.
I would still break up and try to raise the kids in a good way but then again here in Holland the divorcing rules aren't as fucked as in the US.
